Dormancy
Like nature in winter, we pause to conserve energy.

A quiet season of softening, slowing, and tending to the inner world.
This week, we explored the art of doing less—drawing our energy downward and allowing the nervous system to settle.

One simple way to support this is through the sighing breath: Through the nose, inhale half a breath, pause, inhale again to top-up the breath, pause, then take a long, soft, audible exhale. This kind of sigh stimulates the vagus nerve, helping to calm the body and mind and guide you toward stillness.

This week’s intention:
I allow myself to rest and replenish.

If you’d like an audio recording of the sighing breath to use in your own evening ritual, DM me and I’ll send it over.

💫If your day has been full, these grounding poses are a gentle way to release tension and invite stillness back in.
💫Move slowly, breathe deeply, and let your body unwind.
💫Save this reel for your evening ritual.

✨ **Winter Solstice | The Shortest Day** ✨

Today the light pauses.
A long exhale.
A soft invitation to loosen our grip on what we’ve outgrown.

As the sun lingers low, I’m honouring the parts of myself that have served their season—
the habits that feel tight at the seams,
the stories that no longer fit,
the versions of me I’ve quietly outgrown.

This is the gentle work of winter:
to shed without rushing,
to clear space without fear,
to trust that the light will return and meet us where we are becoming.

Here’s to releasing with tenderness,
to making room for what wants to rise,
and to stepping into the lengthening days a little lighter, a little truer.

Blessings on this turning of the wheel. 🌙✨

✨ Winter Solstice Wellness Day ✨

A day focused on shedding what we’d outgrown from the year. The practise flowed through grounding postures, gentle heart openers, detoxifying twists and was followed by some restorative yoga to help us relax into the day. The pranayama (breathwork) helped to balance and re-focus us, before we stopped for a warming Ayurvedically balanced meal.

The winter wellness days are often unpredictable (never knowing what the weather will bring) but we found renewal in our own ways — sharing chats in the warmth of the yurt, braving a wild swim, enjoying the sauna, or going for little winter walks.

Finishing off with a beautiful sound bath. There’s just something about being surrounded by nature, the fading light and feeing the vibrations of the sounds- it was a truly relaxing and immersible experience.

Over all it was a day of stillness, laughter, and inner light. 💫

November invited us to soften, to shed what we no longer need, and to breathe into stillness. If you joined me in practice this month, movement met release, and presence became our harvest.

In this week's classes, we've been exploring hip joint articulation, pelvic stability, and fascial release across multiple planes:
🔹 Anjaneyasana — hip flexor lengthening with posterior pelvic tilt awareness
🔹 Ardha Hanumanasana — hamstring glide and sciatic nerve flossing
🔹 CARs — controlled hip rotation to nourish joint capsule and improve proprioception
🔹 Warrior II — external rotation and glute engagement for hip stability
🔹 Prasarita Padottanasana — adductor stretch with axial elongation (spinal lengthening along the body’s central axis for postural integrity)
🔹 Malasana — deep flexion, pelvic floor activation, and ankle dorsiflexion
🌬️ Take time to explore the breath in each pose — hold for at least 5 full, conscious breaths before transitioning.
🔁 Repeat the sequence on the other side to maintain balance and symmetry in the body.
