✨ After a busy morning of exercise at Dorking Manor Care Home, we decided to slow the pace down for the afternoon. Everyone gathered in the bistro for a relaxing Puzzle & Games Afternoon – and as you can see, it was a great success! 🧩🎲

There was plenty of laughter, teamwork, and of course… cake, tea, and coffee to keep us going ☕🍰.

A big thank you to everyone who joined in – we’re already looking forward to our next Piece-ful Afternoon together! 💛

✨ Dancing at Dorking Manor Care Home ✨

Today we welcomed our fabulous ballroom dance teacher, Simon, to Dorking Manor! 💃🕺

The music filled the room as everyone twirled, waltzed, and foxtrotted across the floor — smiles and laughter everywhere. It brought back so many wonderful memories of ballroom dancing, and the joy was absolutely contagious.

What a beautiful day filled with rhythm, happiness, and togetherness! ❤️

✨🎤 What an unforgettable afternoon at Dorking Manor Care Home! 🎶💃

Yesterday we welcomed an incredible cabaret artist from Mack Entertainment who transformed our private dining room into a stage full of legends. With the blinds pulled down as his “changing room,” he brought to life Tina Turner, Tom Jones, Frank Sinatra, Shirley Bassey, Neil Sedaka, Sandie Shaw, Engelbert Humperdinck – and many more!

The residents were clapping, singing along, and smiling from ear to ear, and our staff had just as much fun. 💕 The room was filled with laughter, music, and pure joy.

We can’t wait to have him back again – what a treat for everyone! 🌟

🧶✨ New at Dorking Manor Care Home – Chia’s Crochet Club! ✨🧶

We’re excited to announce that our brand-new Crochet Club is now running every Saturday afternoon at 3:00pm here at Dorking Manor.

This week, our residents even turned into teachers – showing the staff how to crochet for the very first time! There was plenty of laughter, giggles, and a few dropped stitches along the way, but lots of fun had by all.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced crocheter, everyone is welcome to join us. Come along, share some smiles, and maybe even learn a new skill.

We look forward to seeing you at Chia’s Crochet Club next Saturday! 🧵💜

✨ Yesterday at Dorking Manor Care Home we were treated to a truly magical afternoon with the fantastic James, also known as The Funky Fiddler! 🎻🎶

He wowed us with his violin, mandolin, and amazing singing – getting residents, families, and friends all up dancing, clapping, and joining in the fun. 💃🕺 The atmosphere was full of joy, music, and laughter from start to finish.

A huge thank you to James for bringing so much energy and happiness to our home. We can’t wait to welcome him back again soon! 💖

🌿 Day Trip to Polesden Lacey - National Trust 🌿

Residents from Dorking Manor Care Home enjoyed a wonderful day out with a visit to a National Trust–owned Edwardian country house, famous for its lavish parties and remarkable collection of art and antiques once owned by socialite Margaret Greville. The house sits within 1,600 acres of estate, featuring beautiful formal gardens, ancient woodlands, and rolling chalk downland in the heart of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Everyone loved exploring the house and grounds, taking in the history and scenery. The trip was rounded off perfectly with a delicious treat of tea and cakes. ☕🍰

It was a fantastic day, and we’re already looking forward to our next adventure! 💛

Monthly Coffee Morning at Dorking Manor Care Home

Today we held our much-loved monthly Coffee Morning, and it was a wonderful gathering for our residents and their families. We were delighted to welcome the amazing singer Belle from Mack Entertainment, who treated us to a fantastic performance.

Everyone enjoyed a lovely morning together with tea, coffee, and a delicious selection of cakes. We’re already looking forward to our next Coffee Morning — held on the last Tuesday of every month.

Pumping Workout with Palma Palma Harmonywellhealth Palma!

On Saturday, our wonderful personal trainer Parma visited Dorking Manor Care Home and got the residents moving with a fun and energetic workout session. Using exercise bands, boxing gloves, and lots of enthusiasm, everyone enjoyed an active and engaging workout.

A big thank you to Palma for bringing so much energy and motivation — we can’t wait to do it all again next Saturday!

🎶 Friday Singing with Chia at Dorking Manor Care Home🎶

Our weekend receptionist, Chia, treated the residents to a lively singing class on Friday, and it was a huge success! 🎤✨

The lyrics were displayed on our large TV screen, with printed word cards also handed out so everyone could join in with ease. There was plenty of laughter and energy as we sang classics like The Lambeth Walk and Daisy, Daisy.

The room was filled with music, smiles, and community spirit, and it quickly became one of the most popular activities we’ve had. Residents are already asking when the next one will be – and we’re delighted to say this is an activity we’ll definitely be doing again! 💕🎵

🌙✨ It might be getting near bedtime, but not for this cheeky bunch! They decided a moonlight disco was in order — and that’s exactly what they had. 💃🕺 Dancing, singing, smiling, laughter… that’s what Dorking Manor Care Home is all about: fun, joy, and a little nighttime magic. 🌌🎶

☀️ Fun in the sun at Dorking Manor Care Home! 🌸🌳

We made the most of the lovely weather over the weekend with relaxing garden walks, a few rounds of dominos, and plenty of chats in the sunshine. Of course, we kept everyone hydrated, popped on our sun cream, and even re-used our cowboy hats from Western Day as the perfect sun hats! 🤠💦

A wonderful weekend filled with laughter, fresh air, and good company. ❤️

🌻✨ At Dorking Manor Care Home our Gardening Club was a great success! ✨🌻
We were delighted to see so many residents come together to share their love of gardening. A special moment of the day was celebrating one of our residents, who received a gift and framed photo for winning the Tallest Sunflower Competition 🌞🌻.

Thank you to everyone who joined in and helped make the event so enjoyable – we can’t wait for the next one! 🌿💚
