From short stay and respite breaks to permanent nursing care with 24/7 registered nursing on-site, we offer many different types of support in our home, tailored to our residents’ individual needs. Our Home Manager, Ruth, and Companionship Team Leader, Denise, will be braving an abseil down Spinnaker Tower on Sunday 3rd May to help raise funds for the All Saints' Church, Mudeford and High Cross Church, Somerford rebuild project.

Residents and staff at Avon Reach marked the Easter season by coming together to support Christchurch Food Bank, donating 40 Easter eggs alongside freshly prepared packed lunches ☀️

Resident Viv was proud to help deliver the donations with Companionship Team Leader Denise and Clinical Lead Amy, representing the generosity and community spirit that sits at the heart of our home. It’s been a wonderful way to give back and share something meaningful at this special time of year.

Residents at Avon Reach recently enjoyed their weekly gardening session 🌱

This week, they worked together to transplant tomato plants into larger pots, taking care to handle them gently and prepare them for growth. A relaxed session with plenty of conversation and teamwork throughout 😊

A wish fulfilled, and a day to remember.

For Peggy, a lifelong animal lover, a simple conversation became something truly special. With a cherished collection of meerkat ornaments gifted by her granddaughter over the years, she shared her wish to see them in real life, and the team at Avon Reach made it happen.

Accompanied by her friend Janet, Peggy enjoyed a day out at Marwell Wildlife, discovering a wonderful variety of animals. But it was the meerkats that captured her heart. Watching them dig, play and interact sparked pure joy, their lively, curious nature bringing the biggest of smiles.

Peggy also spent time speaking with a zookeeper, learning more about these remarkable animals and their close-knit social world.

“It was an absolutely wonderful day that I’ll always treasure,” she said.

Spring has sprung at Avon Reach 🌼

Residents enjoyed a creative session drawing bright daffodils, adding their own personal touches to each piece.

The activity sparked lovely conversations about gardens and favourite flowers, and the cheerful artwork now brings a touch of springtime colour to the home 🎨

Residents enjoyed Hot Chocolate Day with a quiz, reminisced about chocolate bars from the past, and got creative by designing their own chocolate brands and wrappers 🍫

For 2026, we’re proud to be supporting All Saints' Church, Mudeford and High Cross Church, Somerford rebuild project — selected by our residents as our Charity of the Year.

Despite the church building being destroyed by a fire in July 2022, the services and activities provided continue with the help of the community 💛

We can’t wait to get involved, raise some funds, and see the difference we can make together.
