March Employee of the Month was Vishnu one of the fantastic care companions at Fairmile Grange Care Home .Vishnu was nominated for his person centred approachs his caring and compassionate nature and always going the extra mile alongside ensuring the resident is at the heart of everything.

Lynn had an amazing 80th birthday with family, residents, staff and friends and the highlight of the day was Marcus singing happy birthday to Lynn.

No matter what age you are, exercise plays an important role in staying healthy. As people get older, traditional forms of exercise aren’t always suitable, but that doesn’t mean staying active isn’t possible.

This week at Fairmile Grange, EverActive visited to lead a chair-based exercise session for residents. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, enjoying the activities, and making the most of the session.

There was plenty of laughter along the way, and it was clear that fun was had by all.

At Fairmile Grange, residents love to come together on a Sunday afternoon for a good old-fashioned natter, and last Sunday was no exception.

The gathering was made even more enjoyable with a selection of delicious cheese and wine, creating a wonderfully relaxed and sociable atmosphere.

It was a lovely afternoon filled with conversation, laughter, and shared enjoyment, as residents made the most of each other’s company.

Fairmile Grange held their very own Grand National, bringing plenty of excitement, laughter and a touch of friendly competition to the home 🐎

The horses — Jeepers Creepers, Fancy Fred, Come on Alfie and Teeth O’Toole — were all named by the residents and were chomping at the bit in the stalls. Residents dressed in their finest hats and cheered enthusiastically, each hoping their favourite horse would race to victory.

With the William Tell Overture playing in the background, the atmosphere was electric. John galloped over the final fence to win the first race on Jeepers Creepers, while the second race saw the wonderful Maureen take the crown aboard Fancy Fred 🏆

A fantastic day was had by all, full of smiles, cheers and memorable moments!

Sandra and her Shining Stars are always some of Fairmile Grange’s favourite visitors, and last week was particularly special as everyone got to celebrate Sandra’s birthday alongside a belated Easter egg hunt for the children.

Christine and Andrea worked together to hide chocolates around the garden, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed watching and listening to the children’s excitement as they eagerly searched for their treats.

To mark Sandra’s birthday, everyone came together to sing, and the children shared a beautiful birthday cake with the residents. It was a lovely moment, and the cake was enjoyed by all — especially as it was absolutely delicious.

Fairmile Grange is lucky to have the very talented local singer Susie Kimber as part of the Wellbeing Team. On Good Friday, Susie entertained residents, their families, and staff on duty with a wonderful selection of their favourite songs.

It was a joy to hear Susie’s beautiful voice, made even more special by the sound of residents joining in and singing along. A truly lovely occasion enjoyed by all.

February’s Employee of the Month was Alex Stewart, one of the fantastic catering assistants. Alex is always on hand to help ensure that every resident’s dietary needs are met, making sure they can enjoy the delicious meals prepared by the talented chefs.

A huge thank you to Fairmile Grange's friend and Minister Kay from Christchurch Baptist Church, who kindly came in on Easter Sunday and led a church service with many members of her congregation

It was a beautiful Service with poignant readings, music and hymn singing which filled Fairmile Grange with Easter joy

We hope everyone a very hoppy Easter this year Fairmile Grange certainly did!
The Easter Bunny and friends hopped around Fairmile Grange, bringing a little extra sunshine as they delivered chocolate treats and bright daffodils to all the residents. They also surprised the team with special goodies from the Brownies
There were plenty of smiles along the way, especially when Edith cheekily tried to make off with the Easter Bunny’s trolley! Even Buttercup the budgie joined in the fun, sharing a sweet little kiss with the Easter Bunny
A special delivery was also made to the lovely Sandra, who visits every Friday to play the piano for everyone. She’s always a firm favourite with residents, and it was a moment she truly deserved
A joyful day filled with laughter, kindness, and a touch of Easter magic.
