1st class BSc (Hons) Equine Sports Therapist. Equinology Equine Bodyworker (EEBW). Jo Howie Equine Therapy carries out a full body assessment of any soreness, spasms, skeletal and muscular asymmetry, injuries & issues; a gait assessment; and assessments of any other areas of concern, such as tack, dental, nutrition. Jo Howie Equine Therapy then offers equine bodywork, sports massage, physio., & rehabilitation (including polework, athletic taping, JJ bracelets). Jo Howie Equine Therapy can help with lameness, back issues, accident & sports injuries, ligament/tendon/joint/muscle soreness, post op. & injury rehab., rehab. & exercise programmes, relief for neurological conditions (stringhalt, shivers, spasms, etc.), strength & conditioning, performance improvement & more! History includes:
Various equine applied therapies (including massage, laser, shock wave therapy, acupressure), equine health, nutrition, saddlery, farriery, youngstock, breeding, anatomy & physiology, behaviour, biomechanics, welfare & sports medicine. Equine First Aid Certification, including post-veterinary care. Experience with the World Horse Welfare, worked alongside veterinary clinics, farriers, studs, equine dentists, equine chiropractors, equine osteopaths, throughout the Isle of Man, England and Scotland.

โ„‚๐•’๐•ค๐•– ๐•Š๐•ฅ๐•ฆ๐••๐•ช ๐•Œ๐•ก๐••๐•’๐•ฅ๐•– ๐Ÿ“‹ I posted last year about a mare with a historic injury that had caused skeletal imbalance in her pelvic & hip structures ๐Ÿฆด She has continued her specialist farriery with Jon Tyldesley Farrier and her physio with myself, but has also started her ridden rehab & schooling with Simply HS in 2025 too! ๐Ÿ‡
Today her schooling was reported as not feeling uneven or one-sided ๐Ÿฅณ and then her appointment with me today followed suit - level pelvic & hip markers ๐Ÿฅณ with more balanced muscle tone too ๐Ÿ’ช Yes, she is still adapting to the work, her new balance from the feet up & how her muscles have compensated over the years and she still has further improvements to make BUT today was a real stand-out for this mare! ๐Ÿฅณ This case really shows how dedication from an owner, a good team working together and time can truly make a difference ๐Ÿ’—

Today was hopefully Cosmoโ€™s last vet check-up following the huge infection in his head in July ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿฅณ Back to his happy bouncy self, as seen by a few clients since his return to work! ๐Ÿ˜… The swelling has gone from his mouth, the hair is slowly growing back on his head & just part of 1 scar to finish healing โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน ๐Ÿ’™ Thank you again to everyoneโ€™s whoโ€™s supported Cosmo through all of this! ๐Ÿ™
