🧩 Today we done a puzzle chosen by this lady herself. She needed minimal assistance and was delighted when the puzzle was complete 🧩

❤️” puzzles encourage the brain to recall shapes, patterns, words and spatial relationships which helps preserve existing neural pathways and may even support the formation of new ones”❤️

☺️ Hand massage, I particularly enjoy doing hand massages. It’s very relaxing for both parties. Our service users enjoyed these too. 🥰

“Hand massage can be extremely beneficial for people living with dementia because it supports emotional wellbeing, reduces distress, and improves quality of life, even in later stages when verbal communication becomes difficult.”

🎵 Today we had two lovely ladies in to do some gentle exercising and dancing with our service users. We had a lot of fun and they really enjoyed the music playing too, and were all singing along 🙋🏻‍♀️🙆🏽‍♂️
We had some shakers to dance with, as well as swaying silk scarves along with the music. All while doing gentle exercise ❤️

💃🏿 “dancing isn’t just for fun it’s incredibly beneficial for people living with dementia whether, it’s swaying gently to a favourite song or moving to a soothing rhyme. This has been known to boost moods, stimulates memories, encourages social interaction, and keeps the mind active as well as reducing stress” 🕺

🌹❤️This afternoon we had the lovely ladies in from The Sage Network, as we do every Monday to come and do some Valentines flower arrangements with our service users. 💐💜Our residents particularly love this activity. 🌷🩷

“Flower arranging offers numerous emotional, cognitive and physical benefits for individuals with dementia, enhancing their quality of life and promoting well-being. It also acts as a mood enhancement, memory recall, cognitive stimulation, creativity, self expression, fine motor skills and gentle physical activity.”

🙂 Today we reminisced about life in the 60s by looking through scrapbooks and talking about what life was like🙂

“ Reminiscing plays a crucial role in enhancing the well-being of dementia patients by fostering emotional connections, improving cognitive function and maintaining a sense of identity”
