A very quiet laureston house today todays weather definately rubbed off on moods today
This morning whilst the lounge was still quiet i went round to see everyone and have a chat, me and doreen had a good laugh about a seagull that landed right outside her window, des was telling me all about his cinema career and me and vera just had a general chit chat.. then i went back to the loung where the residents wanted to play snakes and ladders! I cant believe how many times john said " this is going to be a six this is" and he rolled it! I think the top score was four 6's in a row!! But our vera won overall! 🏆

Last minute change of plans today, should of had a visit from a pre school but unfortunately that got cancelled so we had a think of what we could do.. we found we had lots of bananas to use so we made banana and blueberry cupcakes! These smelt and looked delicious and they cant wait to tuck into them for thier tea! 😋

Great difference with the weather from last bingo day today we had cold, sleet, rain and cold. But we were lovely and cosy in the home. Our Winners today were: Lines - Mary, Yvonne x 2, John and Kath. - Full Houses - Yvonne, Brian x 2, Ann and Phyliss. I hope the residents enjoyed the School children who were coming up after lunch. Busy day all round. ❤️ sorry forgot to take pictures.

When we asked the residents what they enjoy most this year, the answer was clear: seeing the staff make absolute fools of themselves. So of course we turned eight of them into Snow White’s dwarves — who do you reckon will be Grumpy? 😂

Table tennis! What a fun day.. the residents really enjoyed this.. Jan and Yvonne took a few attempts but they finally cracked it and started a rally 👏 John told me he was junior champ at his youth club so we had fun playing too!

A very quiet day at laureston house today! Today was mostly made up of visiting and chatting to residents in thier rooms 🥰 but for those in the lounge today we started off with a King Charles lll quiz (as its his birthday today) which everyone did really well on! And yvonne even gave us some more facts about him thst werent on the quiz, then we played some mini games... Yvonne loved the ball attached to the pool noodle to knock over the pins! 😅

✨ Christmas Gift Requests for Our Residents ✨

As the festive season approaches, we’re reaching out to our wonderful community. Many of our residents do not have family to share Christmas with, and while Santa will always make sure there’s a present under the tree for them, we know this time of year can still be especially hard for those whose only family is us.

We’ve seen how incredible and generous our community can be, any small Christmas gift male and female are appreciated to help make the day feel a little more special for each of our residents.

Your kindness means more than you can imagine and will bring joy to someone who truly needs it this Christmas. ❤️

Today Mary and I went to the battle of britain in keeping with the theme of this week. What a lovely well kept site, and very interesting day out! Then everyone in the loung played giant snakes and ladders! And then me and brian finished off our game of scrabble.... which i won! 'Wow, what a golden player you are!' I think he may have met his match, and even asked for a new game!

What a lovely autumnal day for our bingo so lovely for us all to see the sun it just puts you in a good mood. Our winner...

What a lovely autumnal day for our bingo so lovely for us all to see the sun it just puts you in a good mood. Our winners today were: Lines - Brian x 2 - Yvonne - Mary & John. Full Houses - Brian x 3 & Yvonne. We all had a good laugh while I cleared up. ❤️
