Yesterday we had a trip out to watch a Peter Pan Pantomime at the Princes Theatre, it was very interactive with being squirted with water, a singing competition, a cup of tea and a nice warm mince pie, The residents had a fantastic time and we finished with a meet and greet with the cast 🎄😁

Our residents have enjoyed celebrating the Christmas season together at their Christmas parties yesterday. Together with staff we sang lots of Christmas songs, danced and played games. Lots of food and drink was enjoyed by all and lots of fun had playing pass the parcel!

We have had a wonderful day today at Alexandra House. Our residents enjoyed a visit from the Mayflower Primary School this morning. The residents engaged in singing some Christmas songs with the children who were amazing and everybody had fun. The children then gave each resident a handmade card and every resident was very happy and grateful to the school children and thanked them very much. We absolutely love our visits from the school and wish to thank the children and staff and appreciate your time with us
We look forward to more fun with them in the new year!!!

We have been getting in the Christmas spirit this week. The residents have painted figurines for our own Nativity scene and made Christingles ready for our service tomorrow all while listening to Christmas carols and hymns 😁🎄🤶🎅

We would like to invite all relatives and friends, past and present, to join us in a heartfelt gathering to commemorate the cherished residents we have sadly lost in 2025. Together, we will honour their lives, share memories, and find comfort in one another’s company. The memorial service will take place at 2pm on Thursday 4th December, and we would be grateful to have you with us as we celebrate the lives of those who will always remain in our hearts. 💛🧡

Yesterday some of our residents had some fun engaging in making and baking. We made some lovely meat pies and liquor so the residents could enjoy some "proper cockney" food as some of our residents come from the London boroughs originally. Traditional pie, mash and liquor!! It all looked and smelled great and the residents enjoyed their meals.

Yesterday we had a wonderful morning thanks to a visit from Mayflower Primary School. Our residents and the children shared a fabulous intergenerational session in which the children read books and chatted with the residents and then we all had fun playing ball and balloon games! Our residents loved spending time with the children and everyone had an enjoyable, fun morning. We look forward to the next visit!!!

Today has been a fish shopping kind of day! In our tank we now have Neon tetra, Guppies and Gourami fish, the residents all loved watching them explore their new home and find them so relaxing! Were all excited for some new arrivals in a few weeks once these have settled in 🐠🐟😍

The residents have been carving more pumpkins so pumpkin pie was on the menu for dessert, these were definitely a treat and not a trick! The residents love seeing and tasting the end result of an activity 🎃👻🧙‍♀️

Our residents have been having fun carving some pumpkins this week. Some fabulous ideas and designs made to put on display. We have been scooping out the insides and our kitchen staff have been making delicious pumpkin soup and pumpkin pie that our residents have enjoyed. We would like to thank Cullen Family Farming for your wonderful donation of pumpkins. 🎃
