Fibromyalgia is a daily challenge that affects every aspect of life, from physical discomfort to emotional and social struggles.

This has been an incredibly busy week for me. I've had vet appointments, doctor appointments, and I had to take my daughter to the optician. As a result, I am completely knackered.

My asthma has been rubbish due to an allergic reaction and from the constant bonfires by the farmers this week.

My parents usually help me out a lot with driving, shopping, and other tasks, but they are away this week, making things tougher for me.

To add to all that, my fibromyalgia has flared up, and I am in complete agony. I would love nothing more than to sit and do nothing, but I know that would make me feel even worse.

To top it off, last night, as we were going to bed, Mabel (my Tibetan Terrier) jumped on the bed, as she usually does for cuddles, but ended up peeing on the bed. So, we had to change the bed at 10 pm. Thanks, Mabel, you little s**t!

Luckily, my parents are returning on Saturday, and I have a relatively quiet day today and tomorrow. Let's hope Mabel, my chest, and the fibro behave!

Feeling the Heat?

🥵Beat Summer Sluggishness with these Top Tips!🥵

The sun's out, but your energy levels are feeling...well, not so sunny!

For those of us with chronic conditions, fatigue can be a constant battle.

Add in the summer heat, and it can feel like a massive uphill climb.

But fear not! We've got some tips to help you stay cool and conquer fatigue this summer.

• 🍺Hydration is Key!🍺 Dehydration is a major culprit for fatigue. Aim for plenty of water throughout the day, even if you're not feeling thirsty.

• Dress for Success!😎 Pick out loose-fitting, breathable clothing made from natural fibres like cotton or linen. Light, cool colours can also help reflect heat.😎

• ☀️Beat the Sun! ☀️ Limit demanding activity during the hottest part of the day (usually 11 am - 3 pm). Look for shade whenever possible and wear a hat and sunglasses.

• Cool Down Strategies!🚿Take refreshing showers or baths throughout the day. Carry a small spray bottle with cool water to mist your face and neck. Consider using a cooling fan at your desk or workspace.🚿

• 🍸Listen to Your Body! 🍸Don't push yourself too hard. Take breaks when you need them, even if it's just for a few minutes to sit in the shade with a cool drink.

• Plan Ahead! 🍇🍒Freeze some healthy snacks like grapes or berries for a refreshing energy boost. Prepare meals in advance so you don't have to spend extra time cooking in the heat.🍇🍒

• ❄️Embrace the Cool!❄️ Enjoy activities like swimming or spending time in air-conditioned spaces during the hottest part of the day.
