Having a loss in your hearing can lead to cognitive decline and dementia.
It believed that the increase in dementia risk may be due to the social isolation that often accompanies hearing loss.
Avoiding interactions because you can’t hear what people are saying can mean less mental stimulation for your brain resulting in developing cognitive decline.

Whilst there is no cure for dementia, studies have shown that caring for your auditory health can slow down its progression.
