The list is by no means exhaustive. Hypnotherapy can help people from all walks of life to deal with many different issues using Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy. It's not magic nor does the Hypnotist or Hypnotherapist have special powers over a person. You are not asleep during Hypnosis. Hypnosis is simply a way of purposely gaining access to a part of the mind where all the programmes such as thoughts, habits, addictions, fears etc... are running. When Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy are used and access to that part of the mind is gained, then the most amazing changes can be made in the most natural way. Hypnotherapy helps your conscious and subconscious mind to work in harmony with your body to achieve your goals of unwanted habits such as smoking, weight problems, panic attacks and phobias, stress and anxiety, IBS and psychosomatic disorders. Dietetics is the in-depth study of nutrition which allows us to achieve the right balance between the food we eat and good health. An inappropriate diet can lead to weight gain and mood-swings, reduced immune system. Overweight also increases the risk of heart disease and diabetes. Craniosacral Therapy is a subtle and profound healing form which assists the body's natural capacity for self-repair. In a typical craniosacral session, you will usually lie (or sometimes sit) fully-clothed on a treatment couch. The therapist will make contact by placing their hands lightly on your body and tuning in to what is happening by ‘listening’ with their hands. Contact is made carefully so that you will feel at ease with what is happening. The first thing you will probably notice is a sense of deep relaxation, which will generally last throughout the session. With subsequent treatments this release of tension often extends into everyday life. The work can address physical aches and pains, acute and chronic disease, emotional or psychological disturbances, or simply help to develop well-being, health and vitality. Craniosacral therapy is so gentle that it is suitable for babies, children, and the elderly, as well as adults and people in fragile or acutely painful conditions. Treatment can aid almost any condition, raising vitality and improving the body's capacity for self-repair. Reflexology dates back to ancient Egypt, India and China, it wasn't until 1913 that Dr. Fitzgerald introduced this therapy to the west as ‘zone therapy’. He noted that the feet were linked to other areas and organs within the body in the same zone. In the 1930’s Eunice Ingham further developed what is now known as Reflexology. She observed that congestion or tension in any part of the foot is mirrored in the corresponding part of the body. Using trained and sensitive hands pressure is used over the feet to restore and maintain equilibrium. Remedial Massage is deep tissue massage that efficiently treats injuries. It removes blockages and damaged cells, speeding up recovery and encouraging complete healing. Regular massage ensures that unnoticeably small injuries are treated before they reduce performance. It effectively removes scar tissue remaining after old injuries, reducing the incidence of repeat injury. Lack of blood supply to the spine is a significant cause of long term back pain. Lack of movement and incorrect use of muscles reduces oxygen supply, resulting in pain. Remedial Massage increases blood supply to soft tissue. Following a recent injury, improvement or complete recovery is usually seen after 1—3 sessions. It is especially effective for reducing pain.
