✨🍰 In celebration of The Great British Bake Off returning to our screens this evening, we wanted to shine a little spotlight on Our Great Laurels Bakers – Ann and Pamela! 👩‍🍳👩‍🍳

Pam really enjoys our weekly Baking Club, where she loves making delicious cakes and wholesome loaves. Ann has always been a keen baker too, and is well known for baking up tasty fruit cakes for her family. 🍰🍇 Together, they bring warmth, comfort and joy to our dining room, sharing not just bakes but also memories and smiles. 🥰

Behind the scenes, we’ve also been busy working on something extra special… Our very own Laurels Recipe Book! 📖💛 Filled with treasured recipes, family favourites, and the little touches of love that make them so meaningful.

Here’s to celebrating baking, togetherness, and the joy of something homemade. 🫶✨

🎉🥳 Hip hip hooray – it’s Colin’s Birthday🎈🎁

The fun began this morning with friends, laughter, balloons, Singing and of course a slice (or two!) of cake 🍰✨.

🎉 The celebrations carried on in style this afternoon with his family for sandwiches, bubbly & more cake 💕.

It’s been a day filled with joy, smiles, and lots of laughter 🥳🎊💖

✨👩‍🍳 The Laurels Baking Club ✨
This morning we were busy in the kitchen practicing for The Great Laurels Bake Off! 🍰👏

We baked a wonderfully spiced ginger loaf (Paul Hollywood would definitely give us a handshake 🤝😉) and while it baked, we turned our creativity to flower arranging, making beautiful displays to brighten up our dining room tables. 💐

Lots of laughter, teamwork, and of course a sneaky taste test at the end! 🫖🍴 Who’s ready for the next round?

🚂✨ Today We Travelled back in time 🕰️🚌

Our residents loved exploring the fascinating collection — The old Silver Cross prams 👶brought back precious memories of childhood, Angela said “ Me and my twin sister would sit opposite each other in a pram like this” The vintage typewriters ⌨️📜 Had us sharing stories from office days gone by. Pamela said, “You had to tap the letters quite hard!”

We chatted about how much things have changed — when two stamps were just a penny 💌💷, loose tea leaves came in big tins 🍵🫖, and the familiar smell of Palmolive soap 🧼🌿

The day was filled with, conversation and plenty of reminiscing about “how things used to be in the good old days! “ We finished off with a delicious lunch 🥪☕🍰 — the perfect end to our trip down memory lane. ❤️

🌟 Employee of the Month – July 🌟

We’re delighted to celebrate Jiby, one of our dedicated housekeepers here at The Laurels. His hard work, attention to detail, and kind nature make a real difference every day.

When he’s not here, Jiby enjoys spending time with his three sons, keeping up with their endless energy. Before joining The Laurels, he served as a policeman in India 🇮🇳 – bringing with him a strong sense of dedication and care.

Thank you, Jiby, for all you do. We are proud to have you as part of our Laurels family. 💙

🐄 Meet Diana – Our Farmer’s Daughter's 🐕🍰

Diana’s roots run deep in the countryside – she grew up helping her parents on their dairy farm 🚜💛 she truly knows the beauty (and the hard work!) of rural life.

Every morning, Diana greets us all with the biggest smile 😀 and a cheerful, “Good morning”🌞 – brightening everyone’s day!

Diana has a definite sweet tooth 🍫🍪, and she is an avid dog lover 🐶❤️,
she’s always up for a treat and joins in with every activity 🎨🎵☕. Whether it’s a lively game of dominoes , a craft session, baking a cake or a chat over tea and cake 🍰🫖, Diana brings warmth and cheer wherever she goes.

We are so lucky to have you here, Diana 🌸💛🌟

🧁 Whisks at the ready… it was baking club this morning 🍰

We rolled up our sleeves and put our baking skills to the test – measuring out flour 🥣, cracking eggs 🥚, and whisking like pros 💪👩‍🍳

The kitchen smelled amazing as trays of cupcakes baked to perfection 😍
We topped them off with gooey chocolate 🍫 and a generous swirl of Biscoff Biscuit🍯 – and of course, we had to taste test… 😉🍴

We wrapped up with a classic British baking quiz 🇬🇧🧠 and a proper pot of tea ☕🫖 – because what’s baking without a good brew?

A morning full of laughter, mess, and mouth-watering moments 💛 It was a morning Mary Berry would be proud of- The Great Laurels Bake Off!

🌟Did you know…we run our very own Make a Wish?🌟
Today, it was Victor’s turn — and his wish was to get behind the wheel of a sports car 🚗💨 We got in contact with the team at Haynes Motor Museum and the team pulled out all the stops to help fulfill Victors wish!

Wish granted… not just one, but TWO! 💥
Victor took a seat in a sleek Honda and a roaring Ford Mustang, smiling from ear to ear!

He called the Mustang “ A beauty!” and laughed “Make it go vroom!” before cheekily saying “Jump in the back!” 😄

Another magical memory made 💛

🛞✨ Full throttle into Transport & Travel Month! ✨🛞
We hit the road in style with a trip to Haynes Motor Museum — and WOW, what a ride! 🚘💥

From vintage charmers to a few F1 speedsters 🏁 — the collection had our engines revving with excitement!

💬 Colin was captivated by the classy Aston Martin, calling it “a beauty.”
🚗 And Frank? He had his eye on a red Lamborghini, cheekily saying “we’re taking this one!” 😄
Whilst John & Vernon had their eyes on the two mini go karts to take back to The Laurels!

The wheels are turning, and our adventures are just beginning… buckle up for an unforgettable month! 🚌
