In previous jobs working in behaviour management and special educational support, I worked closely with children and families who were struggling to cope and I always felt I wanted to do more. Therefore, when the opportunity arose, I enrolled as a mature student at university to study a BA Honours in Integrative Counselling Theory and Practice, where I gained a first-class honours degree. As a co
ndition of undertaking the course, I had to have numerous hours of personal counselling. This offered me a great deal of insight into my own way of being and has given me the confidence to grow in both my personal and professional life. Therefore, I have first hand experience of how daunting and challenging counselling can be. I have had a wealth of life experience including childhood trauma and dealing with stage two breast cancer- of which thankfully I am in remission. I am passionate about counselling and understand the value of how it can have a positive impact on people's lives and believe that everyone should have access to therapy and counselling. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or are unclear of how I can assist or support you. If I am unable to help you with your difficulty, I will seek to provide you with alternative support. To make an appointment call on 07553246146 or email joanne@thrivepersonaltherapy.co.uk
