Dorset House Nursing Home, Droitwich Spa Set in beautiful grounds, Dorset House provides award-winning Residential and Nursing Care Our people are at the heart of our success.

Operated by Rotherwood Healthcare, an award-winning care home group providing luxury Residential, Nursing and Complex Dementia Care in our family of homes across the West Midlands. We believe that those who come to live with us should feel welcomed and completely at home, keep their personal belongings with them, enjoy what they want when they want, and be cared for by a dedicated team with only their very best interests at heart. They come from a variety of backgrounds and bring a range of different skills and experience, but there is one common factor amongst them all: a passion for the wonderful work they do and the excellent care they offer. Working together, we create and maintain a new standard in healthcare.

Preparations are underway at Dorset House!

Our residents have been getting creative making acrylic flower displays ahead of our upcoming Celebration of Spring event. Using hangers and colourful acrylic flowers, everyone enjoyed crafting bright decorations that will help bring a lovely spring feel to the home.

It’s been wonderful to see residents sharing ideas, getting involved, and helping prepare for the special day together. We can’t wait to see the displays brighten up our celebration!

A lovely musical moment at Dorset House 🎹

Jill, one of our wonderful volunteers, recently spent some time with Janet, one of our newest residents, as they enjoyed getting the feel of our baby grand piano together.

Janet was a music teacher and taught piano for most of her life, so it was truly special to see her reconnect with the instrument and share her gift. Moments like these remind us how powerful music can be in bringing people together.

Our celebrations are continuing at Dorset House!

Following the wonderful news that we’ve once again been named one of the Top 20 Care Homes in the West Midlands for 2026 by carehome.co.uk, residents and staff came together to mark the moment with some very special treats.

To celebrate this incredible achievement – and 10 consecutive years holding this title – we enjoyed delicious cakes decorated with the Top 20 award logo.

Awards like this mean so much to us because they are based on reviews from our residents and their families, and we are so grateful for the continued support and kind feedback.

Here’s to celebrating together and continuing to provide the very best care for our residents every day.

Meet Molly at Dorset House

At Dorset House, Molly is a valued member of our housekeeping team — but she also has a wonderful talent for singing! Recently, Molly sang for our residents, who were absolutely overjoyed. Staff and visitors even stopped to listen, and before long she earned a new nickname: “the singing cleaner.”

Molly would love to become a Lifestyle Coordinator one day, and this moment showed just how naturally she connects with residents and brings joy to their day. She’s also proud to work alongside her Nan, Diana — a lovely family connection that means so much to everyone at the home.

Molly loves working for Rotherwood and is excited about her future, especially knowing how much we invest in and support our staff. Our residents adore her and can’t wait to be involved in more activities with her in the future.

Celebrating Our Employee of the Quarter at Dorset House.

Resident Dot proudly presented Nurse Sheila with her Employee of the Quarter voucher at Dorset House.

Sheila received this well-deserved award in recognition of her wonderful work and the exceptional care she provides. She often says that Dorset House is her second home, and that the residents are a huge part of her life — something that truly shines through in everything she does.

Thank you, Sheila, for your dedication, compassion and continued contribution to Dorset House. We are incredibly grateful to have you as part of our team.

Enjoying the Outdoors at Dorset House

Lifestyle, Lisa and Dot enjoyed a lovely stroll around the gardens at Dorset House, feeding the birds using the fat balls they recently made and enjoying the fresh air together.

It was Dot’s first time seeing all of our beautiful grounds, and she was pleasantly surprised — especially by the stunning blossom trees, which she absolutely loved. She’s already looking forward to the summer and can’t wait to get involved in planting some flowers and helping to keep the gardens vibrant and welcoming.

A Lovely Morning Out in the Community

June and Brenda know exactly what they enjoy — a good shop, a good natter, and time spent out in the local community. So, they planned their own outing and let Lisa from our Lifestyle team know the plan… and off they went!

The morning was spent browsing the local shops, chatting with people around town, and enjoying a relaxing break with a cup of tea and a muffin to share (carefully chosen so it wouldn’t spoil dinner!).

June and Brenda share a lovely friendship and often enjoy heading out together for a bit of shopping and social time. It was a simple, relaxed outing, but one filled with connection, independence, and plenty of smiles.

Quiet Moments at Dorset House

Today, Katie, along with a friend of Dorset House, spent some peaceful time together with Mike and Lisa, our Lifestyle Coordinator, enjoying a jigsaw puzzle. It was a calm and reflective activity, filled with gentle conversation and shared memories.

Moments like these create a wonderfully soothing, relaxing and connecting experience, offering time to slow down, reflect, and simply enjoy each other’s company. A lovely reminder that it’s often the quieter moments that mean the most.

Valentine’s at Dorset House

It was wonderful to see our dining room filled with so much love, warmth and style, making it the perfect setting for our Valentine’s celebration. The room looked beautiful, thoughtfully dressed by Lisa from our Lifestyle team, creating a truly special atmosphere for the occasion.

Adding to the romance, a talented pianist joined us to play romantic tunes, providing a lovely soundtrack while residents enjoyed sharing memories of their favourite love songs and moments. It was a relaxed, elegant event that brought smiles, conversation and a real sense of togetherness.

Thinking of our feathered friends at Dorset House

We’ve really enjoyed getting creative while thinking of our feathered friends by making homemade fat balls for the birds.

Using nuts, peanut butter and suet, everyone got involved — mixing it all together before spooning the mixture into cling film to set.

Sadly, the weather hasn’t been on our side, so part two — taking the fat balls out into the garden — will have to wait until next week.
