Dorset House welcomed Dolphin Computer Access for a fantastic demonstration, showing just how accessible and user-friendly technology can be.

Residents had the opportunity to see how specially designed computers can support those with sight loss, helping everyone feel more independent, connected and entertained. From keeping in touch with family and friends to enjoying games, books and more, it was inspiring to see the possibilities this technology can offer.

A big thank you to Dolphin Computer Access for such an informative and engaging session!

Celebration of Spring at Dorset House – Continuing the Celebrations.

Following on from our earlier Spring activities, Dorset House was full of life as our celebrations continued with residents, families, and the local community coming together.

We were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Droitwich, Cllr Chris Bowden, and her husband, Cllr Eric Bowden, along with the fantastic community singing group, The Fossils, who brought wonderful music and atmosphere to the day.

With residents singing along, great community spirit, and Karen’s fabulous homemade cakes to enjoy, it truly was a celebration to remember.

Celebration of Spring at Dorset House

As part of our Celebration of Spring event, we were delighted to welcome ladies from St Peters, St Augustine and St Andrews churches to Dorset House. They joined residents and the wider community to create beautiful floral table decorations for our luxury dining room.

The room looked absolutely stunning, filled with colour and the gentle scent of fresh flowers—bringing a real sense of spring indoors.

A lovely way to come together, share creativity, and celebrate the season.

A Wonderful Start to Our Celebration of Spring at Dorset House.

We were delighted to welcome The Good Day Farm - On tour and Blue Giraffe Nursery & Pre-School to Dorset House for a truly special afternoon enjoyed by all ages. Residents loved meeting a two-week-old lamb, along with chicks, rabbits, a hamster, a chicken, and even a tortoise!

It was a fantastic way to begin our Celebration of Spring event, bringing smiles, laughter, and plenty of interaction. A lovely afternoon filled with joy and connection

A lovely shopping trip out for Brenda and June from Dorset House!

The ladies enjoyed a visit to Droitwich town, where June was searching for the perfect dress for our Celebration of Spring event on Thursday 16th, while Brenda was on the lookout for a birthday treat for herself. As always, Brenda loves a good shopping trip and had her heart set on finding a new handbag!

After browsing the shops, we stopped for refreshments at Cafe Morso - Droitwich, where we relaxed in some comfy seats and shared a delicious slice of carrot cake — saving room for lunch, of course!

Both ladies returned happy and pleased with their lovely purchases, making it a wonderful day out all round.

A lovely afternoon out for Lifestyle Coordinator Lisa and resident Jean.

They enjoyed a trip to David's Garden Centre, with a browse around the shops followed by homemade cake and a cup of tea — perfect for a catch-up and a little people watching.

Jean also treated herself to some lemon sherbets, a favourite she hadn’t enjoyed in years!

To finish, they took a drive around Droitwich, with Jean enjoying seeing all the changes.

At Dorset House, we love building strong community connections – whether local or a little further afield.

A huge thank you to lulu creations, based in Newport, Wales, and to the wonderful Lucy Trigger, who reached out to support us and our charity partner, Acorns Children’s Hospice. Lucy has such a kind heart and genuine passion for making a difference.

Lucy kindly created some fantastic Easter balloons for us, which brought so much joy to our home, and also donated two generous vouchers (£50 and £20) for our upcoming Spring Raffle.

We are so grateful for your support – it truly means a lot to our residents, our team, and the wider community.

Easter fun at Dorset House

Our gardens were full of smiles as residents, families, and children from the local community came together for a lovely Easter egg hunt. Little ones had great fun searching for hidden treats, while residents enjoyed soaking up the sunshine and watching the excitement unfold.

There was also time for Easter crafts, plenty of laughter, and a very special visit from the Easter Bunny.

Days like these are what it’s all about – bringing generations together, enjoying the outdoors, and making the most of our beautiful surroundings here in the heart of Droitwich Spa.
