Young Futures Programme - Healthy Teen Minds Fund for 13-18 year olds'

Shine Play Therapy are very proud to offer Mental Health and well-being support to children and teenagers in the Tyrone and Fermanagh areas in the form of :
- Group Play and Creative Arts Therapy and
- Outdoor in Nature Well-being Workshops and Programmes

So if you are a community group and have/planning to source this funding - please reach out to Shine Play Therapy if you are interested in the work we do.

📣 Funding Announcement – Young Futures Programme – Healthy Teen Minds Fund 📣

Asda Foundation recognises the importance of supporting teenagers in communities across the UK, with a particular focus on their mental health and wellbeing. This year, we will be providing up to £600,000, via the Healthy Teen Minds Fund, to support teenagers with their development. 🧠 🤗

Grants ranging from £500 to £1,000 are available to help groups who are supporting young people aged 13-18. 🌠

Emotional or social struggles, difficult behaviour, delayed development, we see it all and more when it comes to our child and adolescent clients. Supporting them using a creative and playful (counselling) therapeutic approach is what we do - and do well. 🎭🎼🎨🎲📖
Our engagement rate is extremely high because of this approach and we also can provide Animal Assisted Play Therapy 🐈‍⬛(if suitable) and Play therapy in Nature 🌳 to engage and support our clients even further.
Our measurable outcome success rate is also very high 😀

Although we have seen the many benefits with clients for a while, we are now very excited to be officially offering Animal Assisted Play Therapy as part of our work with children and young people 😀 (subject to suitability).
I just love the interactions between children and animals and to see such positive outcomes for our clients as a result all whilst respecting the animal involved - its a win win.👌

Its time for us to have a rest from all our hard work (and play) over the year. We look forward to accepting new referrals in the new year and supporting many, many more children, young people and their families in 2026.

I always knew being a Play Therapist was the career for me, helping children become happier. The lovely feedback from parents and seeing the positive changes in children first hand is just the icing on the cake. 😀

With the magic of Halloween over, it got me thinking about how parents often relate to Play Therapy as 'magic'. 🪄
However, after reflecting on how it might feel this way, I often remind them of the neuroscience research that backs up this powerful work 🧠
