The nematantus plant is a member of the Gesneriaceae family. This genus combines 6 species, which are represented by shrubs, semi-shrubs, epiphytic and semi-epiphytic vines. In nature, the nematanthus is most often found in South America. The genus name comes from two Greek words: "nema" which means "thread" and "anthos" which means "flower". The fact is that in some species of such a plant, the flowers have a long and thin pedicel. They can be dyed orange, yellow, pink or red. Outwardly, the nematanthus is very similar to columnia or zipocyrta. That is why some of the species of these plants were included in the genus Nematanthus.
