The integrated early years service has already been massively downsized over the last 18 months, making staff redundant and reducing the services that can be provided to help our children. The local authority are now planning on closing 2 SEN nursery’s, that have been rated outstanding by OFSTED, to create hubs in mainstream settings around the borough. We want the council to change the plan of closing SEN nursery’s (leapfrog) at Netherton park, to have this as their main hub or even for the council to leave this nursery as it is, like they are doing with the Phoenix Centre.
This nursery in general is the best that anyone could want for their child, the fact they have leapfrog is extremely rare compared to other local authorities. We need to hold onto this and fight to keep what facilities we have left, to help our children develop and reach their potential. I have created this page to gather support that they should not be closing the SEN facilities at Netherton Park and for parents who have had children that have attended the nursery, even before the changes that were made 18 months ago to share the experiences in how leapfrog benefited their children.
I want us to make it known to everyone how amazing this nursery is and how important it is for our children’s development that it stays as it is!
