Black History Month serves as a reminder of the struggles, resilience, and contributions of Black individuals throughout history. It encourages awareness, education, and action toward racial equality and justice.

As November comes to an end, we reflect on the meaningful events and milestones that have shaped the West Midlands this month. At Proper Home Care, we’re proud to be part of a region that values community, compassion, and progress.

🕯️ Honoring Our Heroes
Remembrance Day services in Birmingham, Coventry, and Wolverhampton brought people together to pay tribute to those who served and sacrificed. Many care agencies, including ours, ensured that clients could participate in their own meaningful ways, from watching televised parades to sharing memories of loved ones.

🚉 Improving Access for All
The opening of the new tram extension in Birmingham has been a game-changer for many, including our carers and clients. Better public transport means easier access to care for those living in less-connected areas, helping us provide support where it’s needed most.

🎄 Supporting Clients Through Festive Challenges
The start of the Christmas market season has brought joy, but also challenges for some of the most vulnerable. Rising costs and colder weather mean care agencies like ours are stepping up to provide extra support, ensuring everyone feels the warmth of the season.

At Proper Home Care, we believe that no matter the season, care is about connection, respect, and going the extra mile. Let’s continue to build a community of care as we move into December. 💙

❤️Caring interacts with the heart literally: Institute of HeartMath (IHM) research found that our physical heart plays a dynamic role in generating positive emotions and creating feelings of elation during acts of caring and altruism.
Caring can increase feelings of joy and relieve stress: States of joy and delight can result from giving to others. When you helping someone your oxytocin level goes up, which helps relieve stress and create the feeling of elation. It has recently been discovered that the heart produces oxytocin, commonly referred to as the love or bonding hormone, and the concentrations of oxytocin found in the heart are as high as those found in the brain.❤️❤️❤️❤️
