HAPPY SPRING 🍃

So Saturday marked the time of Spring Equinox, where the sun has crossed over the equator heading north, bringing us warmer weather, and wasn’t it just a glorious weekend with the sun out even on a Monday the sun is shining 🌞
Spring is one of my favourite times of the year (tbh they are all my fave) 🌸 but spring helps to lift our mood as warmer days are coming. It can help us feel more motivated, which is why we have the urge to ‘spring clean’ our homes, cars, ourselves, etc...
Colour emerges from our plants and more insects come out to play 😊

DAY 5: FOCUS
I know it’s a day late :/ day 6 will be coming this evening ✨ for FOCUS I thought I’d show you EAGLE pose. This is a little tricky for some people as we are twisting around our legs and arms while balancing, therefore it takes a lot of FOCUS to help us 🙌🏼 there are also variations you can take.

Tips:

✨keep your abs engaged and your shoulder down

✨lift your elbows to shoulder height for tricep stretch

✨ squeeze your arms and thighs together tightly

✨make sure you’re pushing into your balancing foot and weight is distributed evening through your sole

Sorry it’s late this evening but here is a one legged chaturanga for you ✨ I felt it in this pose 🤣 just wishing I could of got my leg straighter! And yes this is a bit more of a posey version 🙈

This asana revs up the intensity of the chaturaga as you start off in a one legged plank continuing to your chaturanga with your leg lifted ✨ You feel the muscles in the arms, chest and shoulders and you slowly lower down!

Today I thought I’d be funky and give you MERMAID 🧜‍♀️
Mermaid is an advanced variation of pigeon and king pigeon pose ✨

This asana deepens your backbend and opens your hips even more. You definitely need to warm up your hips and thighs before attempting this pose✨

Tips:

✨it creates a stronger pelvic floor and core

✨the deep backbend gives you freedom from back ache and sciatica

✨creates a more flexible and stronger back, quads and hips

✨gives you a better level of balance

✨stronger and more open in the shoulders and chest

✨gives you a better control over your sexual desires

Today we have the original core strengthener in yoga, BOAT POSE ⛵️ (Navasana)

This asana brings contraction to the abdominal muscles to help tone our core. It also improves our balance and digestive system as well as stretching the hamstings, strengthening the spine and hip flexors, stimulates kidneys, thyroid and intestines and aids in stress relief✨

Tips:

✨variation: keep back straight and knees bent with fingers on the floor to help balance

✨ Variation: try it with finger off the floor and arms up

✨ variation: try it with legs straight too but remember to keep your spine in alignment

✨intermediate: hook onto your big toes! Or even create a little flow for ultimate core workout 🏋️‍♀️

What a positive affirmation that I want to share with you all 😍
Some insecure people will try to give you a ‘complex’ about something that you enjoy. However, this is a gateway to helping you to discover yourself and finding your POWER 💪🏼
They do this because they don’t want you to grow and want you to feel ‘small’ so you will continue to rely on their approval and make you feel like you need them to be happy!

A smaller, unaware, un-empowered and shrunken version of you is a version that does not need to exist!! Become the person you are exactly supposed to be ✨🙏🏼 YOU CAN BE UNAFFECTED BY THE JUDGEMENT OF OTHERS 🤍

Kicking off this March morning with FISH POSE (Matsyasana) 🐠

This asana really opens up the heart space, brings compression to the spine as it’s a reclining back bend and strengthens the muscles of the upper back and back of the neck ✨

Tips:

✨lying flat on your back, palms under your glutes and resting on your forearms with chest lifted

✨ I like to imagine a fish hook has hooked my breast bone and lifts me up, so the centre of your chest rises

✨ beginners, don’t rest on the top of the head as it can damage the neck if not done correctly

✨ beginners variation, lye with a yoga block between shoulder blades
