The moisture content of oak, or any timber, will massively effect how it moves over time. For projects with fixed glazing, you want to keep movement to a minimum, therefore we use Seasoned Oak from our own drying yards — preventing drafts, leaks and damage to the glazing. ⁠
⁠
Green Oak has a high moisture content and is reserved for structures like Oak Garages, where natural settling isn’t an issue. Did you know the joints are designed to fuse together as the oak begins to move and shrink over time!⁠
⁠
To guarantee precision, all our joinery is crafted from Kiln-Dried Oak, minimizing movement for a flawless finish.⁠
