You don't make real change to yourself by bullying yourself

You've got to build change from a foundation of loving yourself and caring for yourself

Speak to yourself like someone you actually want to help

If you wouldn't say it to your best friend...

Save this for the days your head turns on you ❤️

We don’t believe fitness has to come at the expense of enjoying your life

Train properly
Build consistency
Have a laugh with good people

Enjoy your life

That balance is the whole point ❤️

Most people don’t fail because they aren’t capable

They fail because they stop trusting themselves

Progress isn’t about perfect intensity

It's about messy consistency

Keep yourself in the room long enough for things to work

Keep going 🦈❤️

This started as a joke about a birthday but it’s actually a good snapshot of how Platform works

We notice people
We expect them to show up

And when they don’t we care enough to take the p**s 😊

If you want to train anonymously, this probably isn’t your gym

Drop us a follow if this type of support is exactly what you need

Most of the work that actually moves a business forward doesn’t look exciting

That's what week 3 of the year in Platform has been about

This week was fixes, upgrades, tightening standards and making the place better for the people who show up

This is Catastrophising

It can happen even when the process is working

When you’re in a calorie deficit, your brain senses danger and tries to pull you out of it

The thoughts feel urgent - but they aren’t facts

Most people quit right here

Save this for the next time your head tells you it’s over

This is the week of the year most people will quit

Save this post and let's get through this week together 🤝🦈

If fat loss was just about 'trying harder' it would’ve worked by now

I'm not doubting you haven't tried hard to make it work

The problem isn’t you

It’s how your nervous system responds to dieting and this is not talked about enough

Truth is most people don't understand it

We explained this properly in a live session last week to members

Have a watch if you’re tired of blaming yourself for not getting where you want

This genuinely has the power to change your life

The Platform Story

Platform started as nothing more than an abandoned mill in Dukinfield and a Vision. Mark and Ste who formed Platform decided that the health and fitness services in the area were all lacking huge parts of the process and that ultimately the people of Tameside weren’t getting what they needed. The budget gyms leave you with an intimidating environment and no clue of what to do. The slimming clubs were giving poor nutritional information and setting people up for a cycle of failure by not getting to the root cause of what was causing people to gain weight. The bootcamps and fitness classes just weren’t providing enough support beyond the gym or enough training inside it. And 1-2-1 personal training is just far too expensive for most people to use it the way it is needed. So late night they got together, started at the end and worked backwards. What would the ultimate health and fitness service look like that would tick all those boxes? Bit by bit over the coming years they worked relentlessly on this vision growing both the gym in size and number of members and the coaching team to accommodate the people who were leaving the sub-par services in the area and becoming Platform Shark’s. Now what was essentially an idea born early morning over a coffee in McDonald’s is helping 100’s of people each month in and around Tameside physically and mentally to realise that taking care of themselves can be a fun process, is ever rewarding on yourself, can become a natural part of their life and not a chore that gets forgotten about until it becomes an issue.
