We are back in to the winter period well and truly here in Dumbarton!

Let the chills from storm Agnes be a reminder to get your seasonal flu jab. We are offering free flu vaccinations to all those eligible through NHS schemes, 65+, those at risk and those with long standing health conditions. We are also offering private flu vaccinations to all patients who consider it necessary.

We’ve had some week this week - between power cuts, technical problems and receiving just about every prescription in Dumbarton at once we’ve been snowed under. We are through the other side though and back up and running like the Swiss watch pharmacy you all know and love. Our brilliant staff and owner Prof Mackie have been in before 6am this week and staying late to make sure everything is smooth as can be for our patients.

Next week you will even get to meet some of our new staff! (Don’t worry the team is growing not being replaced).

Did any one catch Prof Mackie on BBC News discussing a former patient and the drugs death crisis in Scotland? Drug deaths are unfortunately a heartbreaking reality for thousands of people across Scotland.

We are proud of our work hand in hand with addiction teams and doctors in order to provide an essential service for those most in need.

Our Rosie the robot needed a little TLC this morning but she is back up and running like the finely tuned piece of German engineering we know and love.

Did you know Rosie is named after owner prof Mackies Eldest sister who turned 70 this week! We wish Rosie and her name sake Rosie the robot the best for her party at the weekend!

Pop in to pick up a prescription or wish one of the Rosie’s a happy birthday. We’re here 9-6 as usual and the ATM 24/7.

And our very own David Beckham Joe is in the crowd!

So Come on Andy!!! The match will be on the radio from 3 as we serve prescriptions and volley “minor ailments” your way!

It may be exactly a month till Christmas…

But Santa came down our chimney early this year as we won our SECOND IN A ROW “Innovative pharmacy of the year” at the Scottish Pharmacist Magazine & Awards!!

We were awarded the gong for our innovative use of delivery technology and prescription management from Cegedim Healthcare Solutions.

Thank you to both for our award and a great night.

While we love to get dressed up and accept awards the real value is in the recognition of the hard work our team puts in to make our service the best it can be!!

German engineered - Scottish driven,
Slightly in need of a wash,
And ready to deliver prescriptions throughout Dumbarton and the vale!

We are trialing our new digital delivery system from Pro Delivery Manager - helping us optimise our routes and hopefully give specific delivery times to our patients!

You’ll see our drivers out and about with the lovely Felicia - please bear with us as we iron out the kinks! Give them a beep and a wave to brighten their day.

How are you??

It’s world mental health day today as well as mental health week. Mental health is just as important as physical health - we can make any adjustments or try and help in anyway possible to help you access care. We are only ever a message or a phone call (01389 762598) away.

Even if this means an impromptu delivery in a crisis or as you don’t know who to call. We aren’t experts but we can point you in the right direction!

Our lovely Trish and Caroline (working on a name for the duo - suggestions welcome - “The Golden girls” unfortunately was not well received), are always in the shop with a warm smile and confidential understanding advice.
