The Harvest, the Hunter, and the Equinox Make a Wish Tonight
For decades, the Almanac has referenced the monthly full Moons with names tied to early Native American, Colonial American, and European folklore. Traditionally, each full Moon name was applied to the entire lunar month in which it occurred and through all of the Moon’s phases—not only the full Moon.

The Harvest Moon and the Hunter’s Moon are unique in that they are not directly related to this folklore, nor necessarily restricted to a single month. Instead, they are tied to an astronomical event: the autumnal equinox!

July’s Full Buck Moon will be the brightest Supermoon of the year.
July’s full moon has a name you won’t soon forget – the Full Buck Supermoon – and you won’t be able to miss it in the sky either because for several nights the moon will appear full before the main event.
Summer is in full swing — as is the heat – but that means more time for sky gazing and enjoying the celestial shows above. June had the Strawberry Moon which was a special treat for the eyes, but July’s full moon is a supermoon, meaning it is closer in its orbit to Earth, making it appear larger and brighter in the sky.
It is the 13th today and it is good LUCK, get a candle and make a wish !!!!

Why is Friday the 13th unlucky? (I never go out on Friday the 13th)
While the origins of Friday the 13th are not known superstitions around the date are thought to have begun in the Middle Ages.
Others argue that the bad luck omen comes from Jesus's Last Supper, at which there were 13 people present.
Norse mythology features a dinner party of 12 gods in Valhalla, the trickster god Loki arrives as the 13th uninvited guest and shoots another god.
There are lots unlucky beliefs around the number 13 which are heightened during Friday the 13th.
