One of the quiet shifts I’ve noticed over the years in clinic has been who is showing up for fertility support.

When I first started practicing, it was rare to see men unless they were coming in for pain. Now, our fertility cases are almost an even split between male and female factor infertility. That change hasn’t happened by accident.

We now know from large population studies that male factor infertility contributes to around 40–50% of all infertility cases, either on its own or alongside female factors. As this understanding has grown, so has the willingness for men to be part of the conversation — and part of the care.

More recent research continues to support what we see clinically.

Studies over the past few years show that acupuncture can improve s***m motility, concentration, morphology, and reduce oxidative stress — one of the key contributors to poor s***m quality. There is also growing evidence that appropriately prescribed Chinese herbal medicine can support s***matogenesis, hormone regulation, and overall semen parameters.

What I’m seeing now is that men (and couples) aren’t just coming in for treatment — they’re coming in to understand:
• what’s impacting fertility
• what changes actually matter
• and how long the process realistically takes

As we move toward the New Year, many people are booking in early because they want time — time to make changes, regulate cycles, improve s***m quality, and reduce stress before they feel rushed.

Fertility is rarely about one quick fix. It’s about consistency, timing, and supporting the body well ahead of conception.

If growing your family is part of your plans this year, starting sooner can make all the difference.

📢 Important Clinic Update – Online Bookings Only from 30 June 📢

From Monday, 30 June, we will be moving to online bookings only. This means our reception team will no longer be available to take phone calls or manage appointments manually.

This decision comes after careful review of how our time and resources are being used. As a small private clinic, we work hard to keep our fees fair and accessible. Unfortunately, we've found that a large portion of reception time is taken up by a small number of people – often for lengthy calls.

To remain sustainable and respectful of everyone’s time:

- All bookings, changes, and cancellations must now be made online. For new clients there is a free 15 min online chat available.
- Clients are reminded of our agreed cancellation policy of 72hrs or the full fee will be charged.
- A valid card on file is required for all appointments.

This change is not about removing support – it's about encouraging personal responsibility and streamlining how we care for you. The online system is straightforward and available 24/7, giving you control over your own appointments and account.

We’re grateful to the many clients already using the system successfully.
