Many cheap toys from unknown sellers on online marketplaces come from abroad and have not been safety tested.

From super-strong magnets that can rip through your child’s belly, to easy-access button batteries that can kill your child if swallowed, to dangerous electrical goods that can start fires in your home, these dangerous toys can be deadly.

So please SHOP SMART and STAY SAFE.

With their bright colours and squishy feel, water beads are especially appealing to young children. But they can be really dangerous if swallowed.

As they bathe in stomach fluids, they can expand to many times their original size, posing a serious risk of blockage in a child’s bowel.

So, please don’t buy water beads for children under 5.

If older children are using water beads, use a large tub with plenty of free space so stray beads can’t escape onto the floor. And make sure all beads are safely cleared away after use to prevent little ones getting their hands on them.

πŸŽ‰ Amazing news, everyone! πŸŽ‰

We’re over the moon to share that our Tweenies Family Group Project across Wigtownshire has secured another 5 years of funding! πŸ₯³

A massive thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland for awarding us Β£175,000 over the next 5 years, to help us continue supporting families with little ones from newborn to 2 years old πŸ’œ

This means we can keep bringing families together, offering support, friendship, and fun for our youngest community members and their parents 🧑

And of course, a big thank you to everyone who plays the National Lottery β€” your support really does make a difference right here in Wigtownshire! πŸ’œ

Placing your baby on their back for every sleep, day and night, is the safest position for them to sleep. πŸ‘Ά

There’s a lot of evidence from around the world showing that placing your baby to sleep on their back, day or night, lowers the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

Research has shown that babies who are usually slept on their backs but sometimes slept on their fronts or sides have a higher risk of SIDS. This means it’s best to make this a routine and place your baby on their back for every sleep, day or night.

Some parents worry that by sleeping their baby on their back they could choke on their own vomit. No research has found this to be the case, and we now know that babies are far safer sleeping on their backs.
