Over the next few weeks we are doing some preparation for labour and birth...last night we used yoga to help positioning and the question of head down left or right spine forward came up .Great question ! And the general answer is that if baby's spine is to the right side of your belly this usually involves baby having a straight back with a lifted chin. Left places the baby's back opposite your liver and encourages its spine to baby curl and tuck the chin which can help for a better birth. But it alldepends on your body, your baby so it's a general principle but using your third trimester to get baby into a good position is never going to be a bad thing. Hope that helps!

Have you got those annoying jumpy legs? Viparita Karani, also known as the "legs up the wall" pose, is a yoga pose that can be beneficial for pregnancy. It can help with back pain, swollen ankles, and tired legs.
Benefits include:
*Pain relief: Can help with muscle and joint pain, which is common during pregnancy
*Swelling: Can help reduce swelling in the ankles
*Water retention: Can help with water retention
*Blood flow: Can improve blood flow to the pelvic region, face, neck, and thorax
*Nervous system: Can help calm the nervous system
*Immune system: Can help boost the immune system.
And it could not be easier to do...
1. Sit next to a wall with one side of your body touching the wall
2.Roll onto your back with your legs up the wall
3.Bring your hands to your belly
4.Close your eyes and relax for a few minutes
Fab...BUT if you have blood pressure issues or glaucoma this should be avoided...

Pregnancy yoga will be moving to a new time next month. From March we will be practicing in Studio 10 at the Wellness Centre from 7.45 til 9pm. This will be a larger room so space for more mammas and all my yoga equipment is there so lots of support. It will be beautiful to share the wisdom of yoga with you all
