Soft eyes is a relaxation technique that involves softening your gaze to reduce eye strain, relax your mind, and increase your awareness of the surroundings.

1. Find a relaxed seating position
2.Choose a point in front of you to focus on.
3. Allow your eyes to relax and your focus to become diffuse, taking in the periphery as well.
4. Take slow, deep breaths while maintaining the soft gaze.
5. Incorporate soft eyes into your daily routine for relaxation.

Enjoy

After a fabulous drive down from Mt Batur, we are heading for Waga di Dua in Sidemen! This area is such a hidden gem—the combination of the lush rice terraces, the Mount Agung backdrop, and that authentic Balinese "slow living" vibe is perfect for no social media. I have choosen a three-day journey of "slow living" at Waga di Dua (often referred to in the area as Taman Swarga Villa Resort & Spa, where the rhythms of the Unda River and the shadows of Mount Agung dictate the pace. This boutique hideaway, featuring just four traditional wooden villas, is designed specifically for those looking to disconnect from the hustle and reconnect with the landscape.
Day 1: Arrival & The Art of Doing Nothing
Beginning my stay by sinking into the quietude of the valley. After settling into my villa, let the afternoon disappear by the water.

The Riverside Infinity Pool: Spend a first few hours lounging by the infinity pool, which sits right at the river's edge, offering a seamless view of the flowing water and emerald rice fields.

Traditional Balinese Spa: Head to the "spa corner" for a body reset. Travelers recommend their traditional Balinese massages, which can be enjoyed in the spa area or even in the privacy of your villa balcony.( which was just what the body needed!)

Sunset at Lihat Sawah: For my first night, dining at the on-site Lihat Sawah Restaurant, where you can enjoy local Balinese flavors while watching the light fade over the terraces.

Day 2: Cultural Flavors & Gentle Exploration
After a slow breakfast with a view, this day was dedicated to the tastes and traditions of Sidemen.

Morning Yoga: The use of the dedicated yoga space for a self-guided flow as the mist rises off the mountains.

A Culinary Immersion: If you're feeling inspired by the food here many visitors enjoy taking a short trip to a nearby cooking class (like Green Kitchen Bali) to learn the secrets of stone-stove Balinese cooking.

Afternoon Tea: Return for a quiet afternoon tea on your patio, a staple experience in Sidemen that usually features local sweets and Balinese coffee.

Day 3: Deep Reset & Final Views
On your final day, lean heavily into the "reset" theme before you head back to reality.

The "Slow Walk": Take a gentle morning trek through the surrounding rice paddies. (The staff can point you toward the most scenic paths that lead down to the river banks.)
5☆ The attention to ever need and detail was met here...outstanding 🥰

We left Lovina today, Andy did the amazing driving through lush greenery land, twisting up narrow roads before we stopped for coffee with a View in Kintamani

There is nothing quite like sipping a brew at 1,500 meters while watching the clouds roll over Mount Batur. The air is crisp, the coffee is strong, and the view is absolutely timeless. Bali’s highlands hitting different today.
Location: Ritatkala Cafe, Kintamani, Bali

📍 Things to Do Nearby
If you’re planning to spend more time in the area, here are the best ways to experience the volcano:
1. The Sunrise Trek
This is the "classic" Batur experience. You start hiking around 2:00 AM to reach the summit by dawn. You’ll be rewarded with a spectacular sunrise above a blanket of clouds, and many guides will even cook eggs for you using the volcano's natural steam vents.
2. Black Lava Jeep Tours
If you’d rather not hike, you can take a 4WD Jeep across the "Black Lava" fields at the base of the volcano. It feels like driving on another planet—vast stretches of black volcanic rock and sand from past eruptions.
3. Lakeside Hot Springs
After a chilly morning, head down to the edge of Lake Batur to Toya Devasya or Batur Natural Hot Spring. These infinity pools are heated geothermally by the volcano, allowing you to soak in warm mineral water while looking back up at the peak you just admired from the cafe.
4. Pura Ulun Danu Batur
Visit one of Bali's most important "Directional Temples." This stunning temple complex is dedicated to the goddess of the lake and is a beautiful place to experience Balinese spirituality away from the crowds of the south.
5. Trunyan Village
For something truly unique, take a boat across the lake to Trunyan. This "Bali Aga" (ancient Bali) village is famous for its open-air cemetery where bodies are placed under a special "Menyan" tree that miraculously neutralizes any odor.
Tip: The weather in Kintamani can change in minutes.

🌊 PURIFIED & PEAKING! 🌊
Kirsty and I just had the most incredible "soul scrub" at Taman Beji Griya Waterfall! 🧘‍♀️✨
This wasn’t your average waterfall photo op—it was a full-on Melukat purification ritual. We stood under the 12-meter falls, shouted our lungs out to release the bad vibes, and then laughed our heads off to let the good ones in! 🗣️😂
From the hidden caves to the stunning stone carvings, this place is pure magic and has a very special piece of our hearts now. If you need us, we’ll be over here glowing! ✨🙏

🙏🙏 I'm all zened out!🙏🙏
This is the Vihara Dharma Giri temple, famous for its magnificent white reclining Buddha statue.
Located in the village of Pupuan in the Tabanan Regency of West Bali, this temple is a unique gem because it stands out from the traditional Balinese Hindu architecture found throughout the island.

Highlights of Vihara Dharma Giri:
The Reclining Buddha: This 10-meter-long statue is the temple's centerpice. It depicts the Buddha in a state of Mahaparinirvana (the final stage of enlightenment). The stark white color against the lush green backdrop of the Tabanan hills makes it a favorite for photographers.

Three Levels of Serenity: The temple is built on three levels:
Level 1: A peaceful courtyard and garden area.
Level 2: The home of the large white reclining Buddha and a wooden deck for viewing and meditation.
Level 3: The main prayer hall (Dhammasala), which houses a smaller, bright golden sitting Buddha statue.

Vibe and Atmosphere: Unlike the busier tourist spots in South Bali (Kuta/Seminyak), Pupuan is much cooler and quieter. The temple is surrounded by rice fields and mountains, offering a very "Zen" atmosphere.

💡 Tips for Visiting:
Dress Code: As with all sacred sites in Bali, you must dress respectfully. You’ll need to cover your knees; if you don't have a sarong, the temple usually provides them for a small donation.

Entrance Fee: There is generally no set ticket price, but a small donation is expected to help with the upkeep of the grounds.
Getting There: It’s about a 2 to 2.5-hour drive from the South (Canggu/Kuta). Most people stop here while on their way to Lovina or Munduk in North Bali.

Oh my days, if you know me I love energy and this is more than special, no major tourist ques and influencers here, thank goodness! Brahmavihara-Arama, the largest Buddhist monastery in Bali.
Located in the hills of Banjar, near Lovina in North Bali, this site is a unique spiritual destination known for its peaceful atmosphere and blend of cultural styles.

Key Information about Brahmavihara-Arama:

The temple features a striking mix of Buddhist and Balinese Hindu influences. The "Candi Bentar" (split gateway) is a classic Balinese architectural element, while the Dharmachakra (Wheel of Dhamma), a core symbol of Buddhism.

The "Mini Borobudur": The most famous feature of this complex is a stunning miniature replica of Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist temple located in Java. This replica sits at the highest point of the grounds and is a popular spot for both meditation and photography.

History: Established in 1969-1970 by Bhikkhu Girirakkhito, the monastery serves as a center for meditation (Vipassana) and spiritual retreat.
Atmosphere: Because of its hillside location, the temple offers panoramic views of the surrounding rice fields, vineyards, and the Bali Sea in the distance.

💡 Visitor Tips:
Dress Code: Visitors are required to wear a sarong and sash, which are typically available to borrow at the entrance for a small donation.
Operating Hours: It is generally open daily from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

1st class place, be prepared to be moved🙏🙏🫠
