On September 7, 2025, sky-watchers around the world will witness a breathtaking total lunar eclipse that turns the Moon a deep, glowing red for 1 hour and 22 minutes.
This celestial event, often called a “Blood Moon,” occurs when the Earth comes directly between the Sun and the Moon, casting a shadow that slowly covers the lunar surface.
During a total lunar eclipse, sunlight passing through Earth’s atmosphere bends and filters onto the Moon, giving it a striking red or copper hue. The intensity and colour of the Blood Moon can vary depending on atmospheric conditions, making each eclipse unique and mesmerizing.
For 82 minutes, the Moon will appear suspended in a fiery glow, creating an unforgettable spectacle for astronomers, photographers, and casual sky-watchers alike.
The September 7 eclipse offers a perfect opportunity for both observation and astrophotography.
Even without telescopes, the phenomenon is visible to the naked eye, especially in areas with minimal light pollution. Binoculars or cameras can enhance the view, capturing the Moon’s changing colours as it slowly moves through Earth’s shadow.
Total lunar eclipses like this one remind us of the intricate dance of celestial bodies and the beauty of our solar system.
They provide a chance to pause, look up, and connect with the universe in a way that few everyday experiences allow.
For astronomy enthusiasts, it’s a highlight of the year, while for casual observers, it’s a chance to witness a natural wonder that has inspired myths, stories, and scientific study for centuries.
Don’t miss the September 7, 2025 Blood Moon. Set your reminders, find a dark viewing spot, and experience one of nature’s most extraordinary cosmic displays as the Moon glows red for over an hour.
London (BST): 7:30 p.m. – 7:52 p.m. (Sept. 7) — moon rises already in eclipse
Paris (CEST): 7:30 p.m. – 8:52 p.m. (Sept. 7) — visible low on the horizon

My name is Rachel and I am the Manager/Owner of Rose Wellbeing Therapies which was established in January 2019. This is where I want to provide services for Parents, Babies, Children, and Families. I am also the lecturer/Coordinator for Scotland with Blossom & Berry Baby Massage & Yoga Training.
I now have 20 years experience in Childcare and Education with many different roles over the years including pre schools, social work and schools. I am qualified with my HNC in Childcare and Education and BA Childhood Practice. I went traveling to South Africa volunteering where I worked with children with Autism at Vera School in Capetown, at Bel Porto School with children with significant additional needs and also a Sports Coaching role at a local school where we stayed. I loved my time there that I then went back with my Son and we volunteered in a Safe house and a Deaf School where we both used South African sign language everyday. I have done many volunteering roles abroad and this has given me and my Son amazing experiences over the years.
Over the years I have done so much training and love learning new things, I have completed my Mental Health First Aid, I was also a facilitator for two parenting groups (Solihull Parenting Approach & Mellow Parenting) in my social work role and this gave me so much insight into pregnancy and babies. I am Paediatric First Aid trained and I have my PVG (Disclosure Scotland) for this role, I am fully Insured with The Guild of Holistic Therapists.
I completed my Children’s Yoga Teacher Training in September 2018 with Caytenna Rodendas from Madrid and absolutely loved it, this gives me the training to teach yoga to 3 -18 year olds, family yoga and some Thai massage. I am really nervous but excited to be creating some introductory workshops and hoping to eventually run regular classes.
In December 2018 I completed my Baby Massage Instructor training which included both written and practical training. I loved my training and passed with an A. I loved Baby Massage with my Son. I am also now qualified in Newborn Nurture, Baby Yoga, Developmental Play and Infant Mental Health with Blossom & Berry Baby Massage & Yoga Training.
I have been unwell recently and took this leap of faith to work for myself and provide services to families who need it and of course who want it! I hope this ‘BRAVE’ step will work out and Rose Wellbeing comes from a pseudo name of Rachel Rose since I was around 13 years old, with various blogs using this name, Roses are a big part of my life from mental health issues meaning I found a beautiful rose garden, roses symbolise death & rebirth and this is what happened to me in that garden. This aided my wellbeing and also spending time in a wonderful place full of roses in North Carolina with my best friend and Son. Roses also symbolise purity & motherly love and are associated with Aphrodite and Venus, goddess of love.
I love yoga, reading and especially spending time with my small family. My partner and Son are my world and I am hoping working on my own gives me some time to treasure my quality time with them. My dream for Rose Wellbeing Therapies is to grow as a business organically and give Dumfries and Galloway some wonderful groups, classes, workshops and courses for all families.
