NHS vs Private Autism Assessment - both have pros & cons…
For many families, the NHS route means long waiting lists and uncertainty - going private means a financial cost but getting clarity much sooner.
Both are valid. What parents are saying is the right choice depends on timing, access and what support you need right now ❣️

Sometimes what looks like anger… isn’t anger at all.

For many autistic children, ‘anger’ can be a sign of something much deeper.

What we see on the outside can be shouting, tears, or shutting down.
But underneath, there is often distress, confusion, or a need for support. In those moments, we can meet them with gentleness and wonder what they might be feeling or needing.

A moment of connection, patience, and curiosity can make all the difference.

You are not alone in this. And neither is your child 🤍❤️💙

To the parent raising an autistic child - Your emotional wellbeing matters 🫶 Most people will never truly see what your day looks like.
It is becoming everything at once - the advocate, the researcher, the protector, the safe place and so much more…
Your child has a parent who is learning, planning for them and trying their very best every day but while you are doing this it is important to know, you matter too as even the strongest parents need somewhere to put their feelings.
Your emotional wellbeing matters ❤️ you deserve support, understanding and a space to talk about how this journey feels for you.
If this post speaks to you, please leave a 💙 in the comments so other parents know they are not alone. And feel free to share this so another autism parent scrolling tonight feels seen too ❣️
