Hello 👋... I've had a few new followers recently so I thought it was time to share a little about myself...
I've been curious about interiors since I can remember and I still think it was our family campervans that sparked my obsession with maximising the use of space! I love the challenge of piecing together the components of a tricky space, like a giant jigsaw puzzle...I'm fascinated by the way that colour can change the way we feel, how adding pattern can completely transform a space and choosing specific materials can literally alter the temperature of a room. I am happiest getting to know my clients really well, so that I can design spaces they will love. My friends and family call this my superpower 😊
8 years ago, my lovely pal Emma and I had an idea for a business focused on designing spaces that helped people feel good. Frustrated by a wasteful interiors industry, we wanted to create designs that people don't grow bored with, because they're about more than the latest fashion, they reflect who you are.
Hanem (Han & Em) Interiors was born. Using decades of design, renovation and customer service experience, we grew this spark into a business, working around other jobs and our then small children. 2020 brought new and different opportunities for both of us and since then I've continued to grow Hanem as a solo designer. Why have I not changed the name? Simple, it holds great memories and the ethos that we built together hasn't changed ❤️
It's a cliché, but every day I feel lucky to do a job that I love and I feel really proud of the business I've grown and the impact I have for my clients. My experience is that the world doesn't encourage women to shout loud enough about the stuff they're proud of, and so in my fourth decade, I'm determined to get better at that.
