Lots of chats with my pal and incredible lighting designer over the last few weeks ...we are working on a light shade design colab and I'm super excited... we think we've nearly cracked it! 🙌 Watch this space 👀

These lovely clients asked for a bold entrance way that would inject colour and personality into their new build hall...

We drew inspiration from their kitchen cabinet colour and created a 3/4-height painted wall in F&B Scotch Blue, positioned to complement the other lines of the hallway and stairs. Adding a radiator shelf created a space for lighting (the cute vintage lamp was sourced from the brilliant ). We added the printing press so that there would always be a spot for personal treasures 💙

Some of you might know I get a little geeky about seemingly subtle tweaks that have a big design impact 😊...the cupboard in the lounge of this Dunbar project is definitely one of these...

The original position of the door in the centre of the room limited the available space in front. Splitting the door in two - perfectly executed by - gave us an extra half metre, meaning we could construct built-ins on the opposite side of the room and still have space for a larger sofa. The gorgeous bamboo handles by made for a lovely feature too.

Same view but different 😊

A little before-and-after view of the Haddington living room project I shared this week as a reminder to consider using what you already have, rather than buying new ♻💚

When we began working together, my clients felt that this cabinet, which is beautifully made and holds sentimental value, was looking a little dated in their space. We panelled this nook to add texture, added a shelf and artwork for interest and painted the room in F&B White Tie to help it feel lighter and more contemporary. A lamp and a gorgeous lampshade by help the corner to feel cosy too. The cabinet has been given a new lease of life, adding character and depth to a modern room.

It is so good to see sunshine again this week. Especially as this is the week we start work on a dormer window in our attic bedroom. I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed for a dry few days while there is a large hole in our roof!

Here's another bedroom project and a sunny shot in honour of this sunny day...snapped on my phone during my last visit to these lovely clients. This was a really fun transformation, full room reveal to follow!

It's all the little design decisions, made thoughtfully at every stage of a project, that come together to make something really special.

The gorgeous curves on this bespoke cabinetry, designed to soften the edges and help the built-ins feel completely at home on either side of the fireplace, a soft white to help these cabinets feel they have been here forever and warm brass finishes to sit happily in this beautiful, traditional Victorian home.
