Advance notice of NHS public holiday on 17 October

Public Holiday

Dunbeath Surgery will be closed on Monday 4 August for an NHS Public Holiday and will re-open the following Tuesday (5 August). In case of emergency please call 999 or for advice 111.

Please leave at least two full working days for items ordered the week prior to this and for items ordered from that Tuesday the new rules will take place.

Please see our poster regarding new ordering rules from Tuesday 5 August. Notes have been put in every bag that has been going out for the last month but this just explains in a little bit more detail. Please make sure you order in plenty of time to ensure you get your prescriptions when you need them.

Update
Good Evening people, thank you all for your understanding today and for this forthcoming week, a lot of time and effort has been put in today by both Fiona's, Heather and our Primary Care Manager Emma. We have managed to obtain cover for the remainder of the week, most of the cover will be remotely by telephone but I would urge you where possible to make use of this service and if required we can then get you in to see one of the GP's in person on Thursday or Friday afternoon.

Good afternoon. Unfortunately it looks like we will have no GP for the majority of the next week due to an emergency, therefore all GP appointments for the upcoming week will have to be cancelled, we have managed to obtain cover for Thursday but unless we obtain further cover these will have to be kept for the most urgent appointments. We will try to get cover for other days but this is looking unlikely due to the short notice and our remote location.

Prescriptions, especially any with any special requests such as items needing re-authorised will need at least THREE working days notice.

I will provide an update once I have more information but please where necessary use services such as 111, https://www.nhsinform.scot/ or 999 in an emergency.

Student appointment's,
When making an appointment with a GP we may offer you the chance to have an appointment with our current student Alisha which would be immediately followed by a review by the GP and student together. I would like to encourage people to take advantage of this where possible as it forms a vital part of our training of future Doctor's.

Please be aware that these are not offered every day due to Hospital placements.
