Early CPR and defibrillation significantly increase the chances of surviving an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

British Heart Foundation is continuing their mission to fund defibrillators in local communities using data to identify and reach areas across the UK with limited access.

Resuscitation Council UK welcomes the Department for Education rollout announcement of all state schools being given a defibrillator this academic year.

Commenting on the announcement, Sue Hampshire, our Director of Clinical and Service Development, said:

“It’s great news that a defibrillator is being given to every state school without one during the current school year. Early CPR and defibrillation can more than double survival rates, this initiative will help to save lives, and anyone can use a defibrillator, they tell you exactly what to do.

The DfE programme will achieve even greater defibrillator coverage across England if they are placed on school gates and accessible to whole communities, rather than being locked inside schools.”

Shield Scotland continue to support British Heart Foundation

It is estimated that around 70,000 defibrillators are not registered in The Circuit.

The Circuit – the national defibrillator network, connects defibrillators to NHS ambulance services across the UK

If a defibrillator isn’t registered then emergency services don’t know it exists therefore it cannot be accessed quickly to save life.

If you are a single or part of a multiple guardian team of a defibrillator, we ask that you please check that it has been registered through the attached link

Here at Shield Scotland we don’t just deliver training Monday to Friday, we deliver training when the client needs it. We shape our training to meet the clients needs and requirements.

Another great day working with our clients Tayside Contracts. More employees trained to competently face fit test their staff.

Face fit testing for tight fitting respiratory protective equipment is a mandatory requirement, in order to ensure the selected facepiece is adequate and suitable for the wearer.

Shield Scotland Training was delighted to be in our beautiful capital city today delivering some respiratory protective training and testing 🏰

Helping to protect individuals from developing occupational lung diseases by ensuring they wear tight fitting respirators that are not only adequate and suitable for the task, but actually fit the wearer 😷

One of the main issues for this particular industry is “baker’s lung” a form of occupational asthma which can occur when working with flour and can lead to other respiratory problems 🫁

Always happy to welcome another new client and a little lunchtime break in the sun was a wee bonus! ☀️
