Happy Friday everyone!
Just in time for the weekend, we would love to share a beautiful blog written by one of our amazing counsellors Clare....
'I have never liked to wear shoes inside and even in the office I sneakily slip off my ballerina flats under my desk. I am never happier than when I can walk barefoot, especially amongst the fresh green grass and wildflowers (watching carefully that I do not tread on a resting bee). I have been known to treat my feet to the feeling of sand between my toes and I have even enjoyed the warmth of sun drenched concrete on my heels. I find that it is so important to connect to the ground that I walk upon, to get myself closer to the energy (electrons) emitted from mother earth.
Today I stood barefoot amongst the grass and quietly noticed it’s dampness, it’s wonderful wet smell, it's coolness and it’s blades tickling my feet as the wind blew across the field. Standing in silence, eyes closed and just loving the feeling of being present in that moment was replenishing.'
Note
Grounding appears to improve sleep, normalise the day–night cortisol rhythm, reduce pain, reduce stress, shift the autonomic nervous system from sympathetic toward parasympathetic activation, increase heart rate variability, speeds wound healing, and reduces blood viscosity.
