We held a staff self care/development day last week - our focus was around communication, listening to others, how best to look after ourselves and sharing ideas in order to be able to provide the best service to those who access support.

One of our sessions was based on a "Twins Challenge" - we split into pairs and made two plates of the same design with the aim of being identical, but with the obstacle of not being able to see what your teammate is doing. We will let you be the judge of our efforts........

Disposables are banned. So what are people using instead?

The UK has banned disposable vapes to reduce youth access and environmental harm.
But when a product disappears, workarounds appear.

That means more people could start using:
⚠️ Refilled or second hand vapes
⚠️ Carts from informal sellers
⚠️ Devices that look like ni****ne but aren’t

This is where harm shifts, not because people are reckless, but because the supply changes.

This post isn’t about panic. It’s about noticing how risk travels through the system.

If you're va**ng it's essential you're only using your own vapes and that they have been purchased from a regulated source.

‘Legal’ doesn’t always mean ‘safe.’

A product called Diamond Shruumz made headlines last year after multiple people in the US were hospitalised.

Marketed as a legal mushroom chocolate, it caused:
⚠️ Breathing difficulties
⚠️ Seizures
⚠️ Serious cardiac symptoms
⚠️ Three deaths

The packaging looked safe. The branding leaned into wellness. But the contents? Still unclear.

This post shares what happened and what harm reduction looks like when it comes to edibles:
🍄 Never assume a product is safe based on branding
🍄 Start with small amounts
🍄 Avoid mixing with other substances
🍄 Know what to do if someone reacts badly

Every 30 seconds, someone dies from a hepatitis-related illness. But here’s the good news: testing can save lives.

Today is World Hepatitis Day and we want to celebrate the achievements and commitment of everyone involved in the fight against hepatitis C.

Working as part of the Hepatitis C Provider Forum, alongside our partners Change Grow Live, Turning Point, Waythrough, Via, Hep C U Later, NHS Addictions Provider Alliance, The Forward Trust, Delphi Medical and The Harbour Centre (Plymouth), we carried out over 88,000 BBV tests in 2024.

DXM is in cold meds but in high doses, it becomes something else entirely.

Dextromethorphan (DXM) is found in a lot of over-the-counter cough medicines and is fine when used only at the regulated doses listed on the label.

But taken in high doses, it becomes a powerful dissociative and one that’s often misunderstood.

It’s often used as an ingredient in purple drank and is known online for causing “plateaus” of trippy, out-of-body effects.

But DXM also comes with serious risks:
⚠️ Accidental overdose if the product contains paracetamol or antihistamines
⚠️ Serotonin syndrome if mixed with certain antidepressants
⚠️ Seizures, overheating, or panic

Help others understand the risks by sharing.

Pink co***ne isn’t new, it’s just rebranded, unpredictable poly-drug use.

“Pink co***ne” has a reputation; colourful, luxury, psychedelic-adjacent.

But the reality? It's almost never pure.

Most batches contain a mixture of:
- Ketamine
- M**A or cathinones
- Benzodiazepines
- Caffeine
And often zero co***ne at all.

It’s not a single substance, it’s branding.

That means unpredictable effects, increased overdose risk, and no consistency from one bag to the next.

The same choice can carry radically different consequences across borders.

This isn’t about judgement, it’s about staying safe, fully informed.

We created this guide to highlight how drug laws differ across five top UK holiday destinations.

Because harm reduction isn’t just about avoiding physical harm; it’s about avoiding unnecessary criminalisation.

In some countries, what feels like a casual decision in the UK could carry years in prison.

In others, even being associated with drug use can be enough to trigger legal trouble.

It’s not about fear. It’s about awareness.

⚠️ Mixing drugs and alcohol? Here’s everything you need to know to make informed choices.
It might seem harmless in the moment, but combining substances can seriously increase the risks:
🚫 Unpredictable effects – even if you’ve done it before
🧠 Increased chance of blackouts, overdose, or risky decisions
💔 Puts extra pressure on your heart, liver, and nervous system
🚨 Mixing alcohol and co***ne produces cocaethylene - a toxic mix that can cause permanent damage to your liver and heart and increases your risk of overdose
🆘 Makes it harder for friends or medics to know what’s going on
If you're planning to use, stick to one substance, take breaks, and let someone know what you’ve taken.

Are you mistaking xylazine ulcers for injection wounds?

You might have heard of xylazine ulcers but not what they actually are.
They’re painful, slow to heal, and they can show up even if you didn’t inject where they appear.

🧠 They’re not caused by injection itself
🧠 They’re not always infected (but they can become infected)
🧠 They Heal slowly and often get worse without proper care

And with non-injecting drugs being contaminated with xylazines, it's important to be aware of these ulcers whatever drug you use.

So, if you're using drugs (even without injecting them) and you're getting ulcers, it's important to seek medical support.

Share to help others stay aware.

You're focused. You're locked in. You're constipated.

That's one the less severe risks of using an opioid for productivity.

Tramadol isn't just being used for pain anymore.

For a growing number of people, it’s about functioning.
About focus. Calm. Coping.

But this “functional use” comes with risks:
⚠️ Opioid tolerance and dependence
⚠️ Fatigue masked as clarity
⚠️ Dangerous interactions with alcohol or benzos
⚠️ Withdrawal symptoms after regular use
⚠️ Overdose

This isn't about judgement, this is about helping more people understand the risks.

You might have heard of kratom. But 7-OH? That one slips under the radar.

It’s a compound found in kratom, but it’s also being sold on its own online.

Some people use it to cope with opioid withdrawal or emotional overwhelm, often without being aware of risks including:

⚠️ Dependence and tolerance
⚠️ Increased risk of harm when mixed
⚠️ Potency that’s hard to predict

This post breaks down what it is, why people are using it, and what safer use might look like.

You don’t have to be ready. You don’t have to have language for it.

If you’ve started noticing that drugs or alcohol are changing how you live, how you show up, how your home feels or how much you care, you’re not alone.

A lot of people sit in that space quietly for a long time.

Not knowing what to do.
Just… knowing things don't feel ok.

If that’s where you’re at just know:

🟢 You don’t have to hit ""rock bottom""
🟢 You don’t have to be “ready”
🟢 You don’t have to explain yourself

We’re here. When you are.

Z-drugs are meant to help people sleep but that’s not the full story.

These medications (like zopiclone and zolpidem) are being used more often to come down from stimulants, manage anxiety, or just get through tough moments.

But they carry risks:
⚠️ Blackouts and memory gaps
⚠️ Serious harm when mixed with other drugs
⚠️ Dependence

This risk is increased by the fact that people are often getting these from unregulated online ""pharmacies"" that may look legit, but aren't.

This post breaks down:
✅ What Z-drugs are
✅ How they’re showing up beyond prescriptions
✅ Harm reduction tips that matter
