🙌🏼 Together, let's enable Ryan to enjoy his college experience! 🙌🏼

Right at Home supports young and older adults to live the life they love, both at home and within their local community.

👱🏼‍♂️ Ryan (not his real name, to protect his privacy) is an 18-year-old young man who lives with autism, ADHD and learning disabilities. He is excited to begin studying at D&A College in Broughty Ferry this August, and his family would love for this next chapter to be a positive, enjoyable and rewarding experience for him.👱🏼‍♂️

We are looking for someone to support Ryan with travelling safely and confidently between Monifieth and Gardyne, as well as providing support while he is on campus. During college holidays, the role will also involve spending time with Ryan socially and helping him enjoy activities in the community.

Do you have experience and an interest in supporting people who live with Autism, ADHD and/or Learning Disabilities? Are you patient, encouraging and passionate about helping young people build confidence and independence?

ANGUS COUNCIL have received report of an incident where a Social Care service user was contacted by someone claiming to be from the Community Alarm service. The caller said they were carrying out equipment testing locally and that a visit has been scheduled. They then asked for the resident’s keysafe code.

😲 We believe this may have been a scam attempt. 😲

🔑Please only share key safe codes with trusted individuals and verified services. You can check the call is genuine by calling the organisation back on an official, trusted number.🔑

🦄 In Scotland, if you have been assessed as requiring a domiciliary care support service, funding of that service by your local authority is flexible.🦄

4️⃣Under Self Directed Support regulations, you have 4 options*4️⃣

✅ Option 1 - Direct Payment
A payment to you or third party to coordinate and pay for your own support.
✅ Option 2 - You direct your own support
You choose the provider, direct your care but the local authority pays the provider.
✅ Option 3 - The local authority arranges your support
They select a provider for you and "own" the relationship with that provider. You have the least control over your care but it can also mean less hassle.
✅ Option 4 - A mix of the above

🎈Of course, you also have the option of self-financing for maximum control over your package of care or if your local authority has not granted you the support which you aspire to.🎈
