Last week we bid farewell to our fabulous colleague Sharleen, who has worked for our Dundee Nova Service for the past 7 years.
Sharleen is moving on to a new position in Penumbra which is a really positive step for her & very well deserved π«ΆπΌ
She has been great to work with, as well as an inspirational Peer Worker to those she has supported. The team have been through a lot together and had many laughs over the years so we're saying goodbye with some very fond memories π
Sharleen you'll be missed loads by us all! Wishing you all the best in this new chapter. From all your pals at Tay Square ###

As Carers Week 2025 is fast approaching, a heads up about where we'll be next week if you want to chat about the support available for you in Dundee π
For those who are supporting someone who is experiencing mental health challenges, Penumbra will be joining the activities at Carseview on Tuesday 10th and Thursday 12th June.
We are also holding an informal Carers drop- in information session at Hope Point on Wednesday 11th.
The theme for Carers Week 2025 is 'Caring about Equality' - highlighting the inequalities often faced by unpaid carers, including a greater risk to mental health and wellbeing. This is our opportunity to share what is available to support YOU. π
If you are in a caring role, it would be lovely to see you. As always, the kettle will be on and biscuits a plenty at the Hope Point drop in.

Penumbra is a leading charity supporting around 1800 adults and young people each week.
We work in Dundee through our NOVA Service is based in the City Centre and works with adults aged 16+ experiencing mental health challenges across the area. The Service provides flexible, person-centred and recovery-focused support. Individuals are offered one to one support and POWWOWS (Penumbra Workshops on Wellbeing).
The primary aim of the service is to promote social inclusion through community integration and involvement. Individuals supported by the service are encouraged to access mainstream activities and increase their social network, which is achieved through careful planning of the individualβs personal goals. This could include support in areas such as accessing leisure opportunities, education and work whether paid or voluntary. Self management and well-being tools are also explored.
In Autumn 2014 Penumbra introduced the Dundee Carers Support Service, a service to support people in Dundee who are caring for or supporting someone aged 16-65 with a mental health challenges. Our Carer Support Workers can provide advice, information and flexible support on a one to one, group or telephone basis. Workers offer support focusing on areas that are important to the individual, ensuring carers are looking after their own health and wellbeing.
