Swimming is a great way to cool down in hot weather. But make sure you do it safely.

It's best to go to a properly supervised site with lifeguards, like a beach, lido or swimming pool.

Look up www.watersafetyscotland.org.uk/ for more information on staying safe this summer

Scots heading to the beach this summer have been issued a warning by two seaside organisations about weever fish, which can hide underneath sand and inject beachgoers with painful stings.

CALL OUT ANIMAL ASSISTANCE

At 09.11h Wednesday 5th July 2023, Tay Valley REACT received a call from workmen working at the Esplanade near Balmossie that two dolphins had live stranded on the beach.

Scottish SPCA were alerted along with the local contact for British Divers Marine Life Rescue.

A member of Tay Valley REACT was dispatched to the beach. Our team member was on scene after being notified and helped provide animal first aid, and help until the local team of marine animal medics arrived.

Fingers crossed for a successful refloat when the tide comes back in. Well done to those who found them and called for help and our team member for attending quickly.
