We opperate out of offices based at Ursula's Beauty Salon on the Blackness Road in Dundee. I am Claire Robertson the founder of Heartwork Services. My approach to Counselling is open, empathic, and understanding. When working with you through the challenges you face, I value creating a warm, non-judgmental environment to make you feel comfortable, supported, and empowered. I love watching clients
acquire a renewed sense of self-compassion and self-worth. My wish is to support you on your journey to discover that you have the tools required to overcome the challenges in your life. For me it is an honour and a privilege to support you to recognise that harnessing your strengths will allow you to have a more fulfilling and happy life. I have worked as a Counsellor in various setting such as Cruise Specialist Bereavement, the University of Dundee and in Private Practice. Being a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) I have extensive training in Counselling and experience of face to face, telephone, online, and walk and talk Counselling. My interest in Counselling began in 2001 when I did a COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills at Strathclyde University. However, before progressing my studies in Counselling I decided to undertake a more practical application of the first class honours degree, in Fine Art, which I obtained in 2000 at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design by training to become a Secondary School Art teacher. On the route to qualifying as a teacher I dedicated myself to community care by working with adults with learning disabilities. I have taught Art around the world, in places such as Hong Kong, and at home in Scotland for 19 years. However, my passion for Counselling remained throughout. I have a masters with distinction in Counselling from the University of Abertay, Dundee. I offer individual Counselling supporting people with a variety of needs, such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and bereavement to name but a few. My Masters project on the diploma which is titled “A Creative Resource for Counsellors” is characteristic of my passion for art and my desire to incorporate this into my Counselling practice when appropriate. I offer creative approaches to therapy if this is of interest to you. However, I am well versed in a variety of other Counselling styles for those who prefer a different approach.
