🏴❤️😍 HAPPY DUNDEE DAY! 136 years ago, Dundee became the first city in Scotland to be given city status. Queen Victoria signed a charter dated 26 January 1889 officially declaring it as one!
Dundee has made a HUGE impact on the world, the things we have invented, pioneered and developed is nothing short of incredible! The incandescent light bulb, statistical graphs, the postage stamp, aspirin, aviation to name just a few!
It is a place of new hope. It is a city that gets knocked down but gets back up on its feet again. From the bustling jute industry to becoming a global tech hub, Dundee has went through an extraordinary change
Dundonians, we are pretty amazing. Despite our city continuing to face many challenges, it goes back to the saying that was coined 60 years ago, it is a place of new hope.
When we face challenges, we confront them, and if we get knocked down, we get back up and come out stronger!
Dundee ain't no ordinary city! We’re exceptional, groundbreaking and all round - pure teckle!
