With the academic year coming to an end and graduation just around the corner, we want to say a huge thank you to all of the students who joined our team while placements.

Students bring so much knowledge and fresh perspectives to our space and challenge us to reflect on the how and why behind our practise.

This is something we choose to do, not because we’re being generous (there’s no funding/financial gains) but because it’s a highly valuable, mutually beneficial learning experience! ✨

In 2025, we launched a brand new community education programme - Change & Grow

Over 9-months, 12 participants took part in mental & physical wellbeing workshops, employability training, drama & music classes and visits to a variety of local green spaces. Each participant set a goal they wanted to work towards and the group supported each other through the process.

You can see some of the artwork and reflections from participants in the POD Gallery, part of our Community Hub at the Wellgate Shopping Centre.

Add some WHIMSY to your life! 🦋✨

We’re very excited to have joining us for a masterclass in bringing the wildest parts of your imagination to life in colourful, stylised designs.

While you may have seen Lauren’s mural work on the sides of buildings round Dundee, she’s no stranger to creating beautiful products that become key pieces in your home.

This session will have you designing, painting and using vinyl wraps to create a totally unique storage unit for your home. Could it be a bedside cabinet that tells a story? Maybe a biographical bookshelf? The possibilities are limitless and we’re here to guide you from blank canvas to masterpiece.

Your ticket includes all your materials, your storage unit and a delicious vegan lunch from . All of our profits go back into our community projects - reducing isolation, making art more accessible and preventing waste from ending up in landfill. 🦋🫧

Family club had a fantastic time making their own soaps with the help of one of our fantastic volunteers.

Each participant was able to select a colour, scent and shape for their soap. They got to get hands on preparing ingredients, learning about how to mix things together in just the right quantities and find out more about the science behind a bar of soap! 🧼🫧

We’re so grateful to the work of our volunteers and feel very lucky to have the space and time to support local families to create these experiences for each other.

From FORM to ReShape, commissions to partnership projects - creative workshops are key to who we are at ScrapAntics.

Using donated and recycled materials, our team of artists and volunteers run sessions to inspire, uplift and support wellbeing in our community. This year, we’ve deliver over 30 workshops led by 16 different local artists!

One of our artist and play workers, Alex, recently led a workshop for young carers in partnership with and

The sessions were held at Whitfield Community Garden with a group of young carers from Balumbie Primary School.
The first art activity involved finding natural materials from the garden and pressing them into clay to make ornaments which got a bit wild!
The second session (where all of the photos were taken) focused on decorating the clay ornaments and stones with poscas while enjoying some sun in the garden.

One of the girls who came started off very high energy and hyper but became quieter and more settled and zen as she got focused on her painting. And a quote from one of the young people was “this is great, can we just stay here for the rest of the day instead of going back to class?” and a few of the kids described the sessions as “very relaxing” which was lovely to hear.

“The garden was a brilliant space for it and sitting in nature, making art - it felt a bit like being in our own wee world, at least that’s how I felt!” - Alex (artist & play worker)

At the same time, there were also activities on offer from the Whitfield Gardening Group including building and painting bug hotels for the garden and planting seeds. Gems from Dundee Carers also brought a nature hunt activity sheet so the young people could hunt the garden for everything on the list.

Over the past year, our Community Hub in the Wellgate Shopping Centre has had 6577 visits!!!

From music clubs to women’s groups, drop-ins to workshops - our wee space has so much to offer. There’s always a warm welcome from the team and safe environment to be yourself in. Check our website or socials to see what’s going on this week or come say hello!

Thank you so much to everyone who visited, donated or funded our work here. We especially want to thank our volunteers who keep our programmes alive and running smoothly - your skills and time are a phenomenal gift that we are very grateful for.
