🤔Did you know social media promotion of non-hormonal methods of contraception (such as fertility apps) may increase unintended pregnancy?

In 2023 there was a 30% increase in Termination of Pregnancy rates (TOP) in Scotland.

Using no contraception, typically 85 in 100 will get pregnant in one year.

Fertility apps, also known as natural contraception, are 76% effective when used as contraception alone. That means that 24 in 100 people will get pregnant in a year.

There are more effective options when choosing contraception.

For more information on different types of contraception, searcg “Can You Count On Your Fertility App? | Sexual Health & Blood Borne Viruses Tayside” 🔎

We’ve teamed up with our colleagues at and .cool2talk to raise awareness of the mis-information around non-hormonal contraception that you can often find on social media platforms! 📲

We want to promote accurate, easy to understand information to allow informed positive contraception choices. 💬

Did you know you can drop into the corner to have a chat with one of our sexual health nurses about contraception? 👥

‼️No appointment needed!
