!!!VACANCY!!!
Are you intrigued by people’s life stories, and keen to help them access the right support when they face difficulties?
Are you a naturally organised, non-judgmental listener, who can “connect the dots” easily between individual needs and a Service’s resources?

We are looking to recruit Intake Workers to undertake initial, individual intake appointments with the people who would like to access our support services. This stage informs our decision on what support to offer someone, be it an individual, a parent, a young person, or a family group.

The posts will be based in Dundee or Glenrothes, and we are open to offering flexible, remote working options following successful completion of the probationary period.

The position/s available:
Hours: 15 per week (to be worked Monday to Friday, as agreed)
Salary: £11,076 – £12,469 per annum

What we offer:
- a professional, flexible and fair organisational culture,
- a workplace pension scheme, with 10% on top of your salary being paid in employer’s contribution (if qualifies),
- enhanced annual leave that grows further after 5 years of employment – including all Public Holidays,
- employee counselling support to you and immediate family members,
- flexible/hybrid working opportunities.

One additional position is available on a casual relief contract, offering significant flexibility and less hours on average (up to, on average, 7.5 hours per week). You may request to be considered for either or both options, in your application form.

For further details and an application pack, please contact us on 01382 201343 or e-mail info@rstf.co.uk. The recruitment will close at 9am on Friday 27th February 2026, or as soon as a suitable number of applications have been received. Interviews will be held on Thursday 12 March 2026.

Have you or your family benefited from our support in Dundee, before? Do you believe that we should be there if you needed us in the future?

Services like ours help before problems escalate into crisis — but a number of Council commissioned services are now at risk due to proposed budget savings.

If you believe in the power of early support, please contact your local MSP or Dundee City Councillor and ask them to protect preventative third-sector children and families' services in Dundee.

Your voice matters. Real experiences matter.
Now is the time to be heard.

Well done colleagues, it is great to see the Network creating new connections, placing positive relationships at the heart of Scotland.

A great meeting today with Monique Dreon-Goold (President), Seamus Searson (General Secretary) and Paul Cochrane (Vice President) of the SSTA (Scottish Secondary Teachers' Association).

Nicola Watson (RS Head of Network Services) and Mark Mackenzie Smith (CEO of Bright Light Relationship Counselling) shared the work of the Relationships Scotland Network and explored opportunities for working together. We are looking forward to working together to promote Relationships at the Heart of Scotland.

If you ever accessed our support in the past, if you might need it in the future, or if you are currently being supported by our team - we need your voice to strengthen ours. We need you.

Dundee City Council's budget consultation for 2026-2027 is live and our Service is included alongside other crucial local children and families' services that is being considered to be reduced, or to stop commissioning altogether.

We are the only local service whose sole aim is to support people to overcome family breakdown, relationship difficulties and conflict, and to build bridges. We are told by you time and time again, that without input from our mediators, counsellors or child contact centre team you wouldn't know where you would be. We need you to now let Dundee City Council know this, too, if you feel willing and able.

The survey is long (sorry, not our doing!) as it covers every aspect of commissioned services. It won't take you longer than 15-20 minutes and significantly less if you skip questions you don't want to answer. Part B4 (page 24) covers Children and Families services - you will find us there. The survey is entirely anonymous but naturally you do need a Dundee City postcode to confirm your entry. You can fill out the consultation any time before 19 December 2025, here: https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=xW2RZNQhZkKk7pbw52UA0byTwXgGdmhAufV7ajKyWXlUMEw1MDBZVkdXMFJXNlRPQkRGNFY0Nlo3MC4u&route=shorturl

Thank you for joining us as we stand together to protect local services so crucial for many!
