TCA would like to provide an update on its SafeZone bus. After a great deal of thought and discussion, we have made the difficult decision to no longer operate the bus as part of the SafeZone service. Recent checks highlighted that the vehicle requires a significant amount of maintenance and refurbishment. Alongside the financial cost of this work, we also identified several areas that could become health and safety concerns if not addressed. Given these factors, continuing to run the bus in its current condition would not be the right thing to do.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to staff and volunteers, both past and present, who worked tirelessly to ensure that visitors to the bus were welcomed warmly and provided with appropriate support. Indeed, without their passion for the bus it simply would not have been able to deliver what it has 💛
