Research shows there’s no single, shared definition of “wellbeing” across organisations.
And that’s where a key issue emerges…
➡️ Women’s health is often overlooked or inconsistently included.
While wellbeing is commonly framed around:
• Mental health
• Physical health
• Productivity
Specific aspects of women’s health - like hormonal health, menstrual health, fertility, and menopause - are rarely embedded into these definitions.
📉 The impact?
• Gaps in support
• Stigma and silence
• Policies that don’t reflect real experiences
🔍 Key takeaway:
If organisations don’t clearly define wellbeing to include women’s health, they risk excluding a significant part of their workforce experience.
Only 50% of employers have a clear wellbeing strategy - this is something that needs to change to better support the unique physical and psychological aspects of women's health in the workplace.
