Power Outage

The Practice is currently facing significant disruption due to a power outage in the area. As a result, we are unable to make or receive calls, and we do not have access to our computer system. This has limited the services we can provide at this time.

If your call is an emergency or life-threatening, please dial 999 immediately. For general medical advice, please call NHS 24 at 111.

We hope to resume normal service as soon as possible. Once power is restored, we will update this notice accordingly.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause

There are lots of winter illnesses circulating at the moment, particularly flu, RSV, COVID and norovirus. If you are eligible and haven't yet been vaccinated against flu and/or COVID you can drop in to our community vaccination centres this week.

Or you can still book an appointment at www.nhsinform.scot/wintervaccines.

This includes all those eligible due to their age, health condition or caring responsibilities, as well as health and social care workers. Staff are reminded to bring their ID badges.

Visit www.vaccinationtayside.scot.nhs.uk for full details of drop-in clinics or www.nhsinform.scot/wintervaccines for eligibility information.

GP practices will be closed for two days at Christmas (25 and 26 December) and two days at New Year (1 and 2 January).

Make sure you have common medicines such as paracetamol (including liquid paracetamol for children), ibuprofen, cold and flu remedies, antihistamines and medicine for stomach bugs, as well as first aid kit supplies like plasters, bandages and antiseptic wipes/creams.

Your pharmacist can advise on the best medications to have in your medicine cabinet.

Visit www.keepwellinwinter.scot.nhs.uk for more tips on staying well over the winter months.

Got norovirus? This is one of the most common stomach bugs and usually clears up by itself in a few days. There’s no cure so the best thing to do is stay at home and let it run its course.

You should have plenty of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to avoid dehydration and, if you feel like eating, plain foods like soup, rice, pasta and bread. Take paracetamol for fever or aches and get plenty of rest. You can also use special rehydration drinks from pharmacies if you have signs of dehydration, such as a dry mouth or dark urine.

Stay off work or school until 48 hours after your symptoms have cleared.

Visit www.keepwellinwinter.scot.nhs.uk for advice on how to care for yourself at home.
