Proud to announce reservations are open for our first RE-Mind @ Muirfield Aberdeen based Scottish Mental Health First Aid training. Provided in partnership with our friends from Ardoe House Hotel & Spa this will be two full days of training in Mental Health First Aid & Su***de Prevention fully approved and certified by Public Health Scotland.

Sharing some alarming trends from the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development report published September '25.

- Average annual employee absence increasing sharply from 5.8 days in 2020 to 9.4 days in 2025.

- Mental ill health is the leading cause of long term (>4weeks) absence and the second most common cause of short term absence.

These figures represent significant & real business costs which impact the bottom line, but this can be pro-actively managed and now is the time for action. 57% of organisations report having some form of workplace mental strategy in place (which alarmingly means, 43% are doing nothing)

Most of the time we breathe without even thinking about it, but consciously and mindfully paying attention to it or changing its pattern has been shown to improve relaxation 🌬️

Research suggests there are many benefits - reducing stress and anxiety, improving sleep and mood and maybe even helping with the symptoms of certain physical illnesses 🍀

Spending time outside or bringing nature into life has been found to have a calming effect and positive impacts on conditions such as anxiety and depression 🌻

Research has also found that being exposed to natural environments improves working memory, cognitive flexibility and attentional control ☁️

We know everyone is busy and it can be tough to find time to focus on yourself, but we believe even putting 5 minutes a week aside to look after your mental health can make a difference 🌱

This week we wanted to share a collection of one minute mindfulness exercises - just click the link in this post to get started! 🌟

Meditation is a simple, fast method of reducing stress that you can practice wherever you are. Short sessions have been proven to build skills to manage stress, lower resting heart rate, lower resting blood pressure, help you sleep better and bring you back to focusing on the present 💭
