So here’s the thing, success doesn’t always bring calm!

Many of the women I work with who are high-achievers
are brilliant, resilient, driven but deeply exhausted. Leading them to feeling emotionally distant, disconnected, and unsure who they really are beneath their success.

The misconception of therapy is that it’s just about fixing what’s broken but in essence, therapy helps you to clear the rumble from the path so you can come back home to yourself
 your true authentic self that is layered underneath the expectations, wants and at times toxicity of others.

You may be running on autopilot, constantly analyzing yourself, struggling to rest, or feeling emotionally overwhelmed by others’ needs.

It’s not because you’re broken, it’s likely because you’ve learned to survive this way.

Therapy isn’t just about unpacking the past. It’s about helping you feel safe, whole, and truly you - in a way you’ve never experienced before.

‘Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.’

For those that know me, I am a listener of stories... for almost 18 years I have been working with the subconscious to empower my clients to truly flow with their life, trust in themselves and release trauma.

I learned that it can take time to overcome our negative life scripts. Little steps of reconnection everyday can help to build self reliance and a sense of inner trust and understanding. . . but I also realised that to help people truly learn to flow, not force, to find the freedom and happiness in letting themselves go with the natural and authentic flow of their life and fully release trauma and blocks in the body I needed to embrace somatic healing within my work.

Flow is not about being passive, it is an innate force and the essence of who we are. So I’m currently working on combining my expressive art therapy, breathwork and hypnosis to offer you a number of day workshops and weekend retreats that will help you to connect with your authentic self.

Over the next few months I’ll be sharing more posts about these courses, launch details and how to book.

🐝 Today marks 8 years since the Manchester Arena Bombing. I would like to take a moment in this post to remember the 22 innocent lives lost and the countless others whose lives changed forever that day.

In 2017 myself, like so many other therapists and practitioners across the UK joined together to offer our services for free to those directly affected by the bombing.

It was a privilege to do this and I will be forever touched by the stories I shared in. Amidst the heartbreak, fear and confusion I witnessed amazing strength and resilience
 and love that was louder than hate. 🐝

 but it doesn’t have to only be serious to matter.

It doesn’t have to always require a deeper purpose to have meaning.

It doesn’t have to exclusively follow a path of reason or explanation.

Sometimes there will be days
 when all it has to be is fun!

Changing your habits is also knowing your value!

Do you value yourself enough to live a healthy and holistic lifestyle or are you still self sabotaging?

Even therapists need to practice this... I’m starting my days at the moment with Greek yogurt, high protein granola and blueberries for breakfast đŸ«

What makes you happy?

I often hear people say
 “when I’m happy”, “if I could just be happy” or “I want to be happy but
” so what does it mean to be happy?

How we perceive happiness and how we strive to chase it, may be the real reason we never truly find it!

What if you could learn to be present in each moment of your life and reconnect with your feelings and thoughts. Perhaps happiness is not a constant but a fluctuating state and it in focusing on reconnecting and trusting ourselves we invite a constant into our lives, a different way in which to see our lives and a deeper invitation to happiness to show up in new ways!

One breath at a time
 ice baths/cold plunging can be transformative but they require us to be present within ourselves.

I procrastinated getting in for my first ice bath of 2025 this morning and honestly it was a struggle and I managed about 1 minute compared to my previous 3/5 minutes! Why
 because I forgot to prepare my mind and as a result, I struggled today to control my breathing!

This is one of my sacred spaces and those minutes I sit in this is when I slow down, come out of my head and the only focus is on my breath
 I didn’t reach that this morning but you know what
 it’s ok.

It’s a good lesson to learn that when we introduce new practices into our lives, they take time to master, there will be days we find it hard to do and maybe don’t have the energy or motivation
 that’s ok. Consistency is what drives us forward, so no matter what you decided to start doing in 2025, just keep going even when you have days when you can’t or stop half way through
 you just have to persist and remember its not perfection but consistency that leads to success.

‘Be who you are not who the world wants you to be.’

To the women who feel they have lost themselves
 know that you matter, don’t be afraid of having your voice heard, your needs are valid and prioritising yourself is not selfish, it’s self care!

You don’t need to be anyone but who you are
 you don’t need to put on a brave face, hide your desire, your passion, your grief, act stronger than you feel, hide your tears, cover up your excitement, fear or sadness.

There is no shame in expressing your authentic self, you are not lost
 you are disconnected to your true self. That part inside of you that urges you not to hide away because regardless of how it may feel, you, in expressing all of your realness, are already enough.

Life is a balance and perhaps for a while now you have felt out of balance. At times you will experience both the highs and the lows. One day you will win and on another you will lose. You will pass through both success and failure, love and loss.

Throughout all of your life’s journey you will navigate the ups and downs of what it is to be alive. Allow yourself to accept them all. Learn from everything and take each lesson whether it be good or bad to build on and remind yourselves who you are and what you are capable of.

Trust in the knowledge that you are not defined by a single moment, everything you experience is a part of what makes you whole
 makes you, you!

“I am not what happened to me
 I am what I choose to become.”

Invisible wounds produce trauma but your value does not decrease just because someone failed to see your worth. Once you can recognise the patterns you are following because of your relationship trauma, you can begin to change your relationship with yourself and others.

I want you to remember that you are not what happened to you. You are not determined by your trauma, abuse or your past... you are what and who you choose to be.

Everyday remind yourself of the following, say it out loud or whisper it under your breath but embrace your healing and rewrite YOUR story:

I choose to be me.
I choose happiness over pain.
I choose hope over fear.
I choose love over hate.
I choose trust over mistrust.
I choose future over past.
I choose me over the monster.
I choose life.
