Let’s talk about “non-negotiables” — and why mine don’t look the same every day.
I’ve tried rigid daily routines… and honestly, they don’t work for me.
As someone who cycle-syncs, parents, and works flexibly, my energy, time, and focus naturally shift from day to day. Some days I’m productive and full of momentum. Other days, I need softness, slowness, space.
And I’ve learned to respect that.
So instead of setting hard daily non-negotiables, I focus on what matters across the week — and that rhythm keeps me grounded without feeling boxed in.
Here’s what my weekly non-negotiables look like:
1–2 coffee dates with friends (connection fuels me)
4–5 movement sessions — a mix of strength and somatic work, depending on how I feel
4–5 walks with my dog (fresh air + clarity = essential)
Journalling at least twice a week for reflection + emotional release
And using mindset tools (from years of personal growth work) to reframe, shift perspective, and communicate with more clarity and calm
Daily? I keep it simple:
Prioritise protein
Stay hydrated (1–2 litres)
Make sure I’m nourishing my body with 4 balanced meals and key vitamins
This flexible structure gives me enough to stay consistent without burning out — and leaves room for creativity, intuition, and rest.
Your non-negotiables don’t have to be rigid. They just have to be realistic for you.
What do you commit to weekly — no matter what?
