At SPINEWELL Clinic, I actively use Shockwave Therapy — a modern and highly effective treatment method widely applied in orthopedics and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
The term shockwave therapy refers to mechanical pressure impulses that travel through the body in the form of acoustic (ultrasound-like) waves.
👉 This technology has been used in medicine for over 25 years — for example, shockwaves have long been applied to break down kidney stones without surgery, a procedure known as lithotripsy.
In my clinic, shockwave therapy is most frequently used to treat inflammation at the attachment points of tendons and ligaments in major joints, including:
• Shoulder joint — frozen shoulder
• Elbow joint — golfer’s elbow or tennis elbow
• Hip joint — hip osteoarthritis or trochanteric bursitis
• Knee joint — jumper’s knee or runner’s knee
• Foot — plantar fasciitis and heel spur
💥 I regularly observe pain reduction already at the early stages of treatment. Depending on the diagnosis, the healing process may take several weeks or even months; however, pain relief often occurs well before full tissue healing is complete.
It is important to understand that complete recovery requires time and, in most cases, several repeated sessions within a short treatment period.
⚠️ Important note: like any therapeutic method, shockwave therapy delivers the best results only when combined with massage and other physiotherapy techniques.
If shockwave therapy is used alone, without manual treatment, its effectiveness and overall healing potential are significantly reduced.
At SPINEWELL, I always prioritise manual techniques of therapeutic and sports massage when treating musculoskeletal conditions. Shockwave therapy is an additional tool — designed to accelerate and enhance your recovery, not replace hands-on treatment.
