Things I'm grateful for this week πŸ™πŸΌ

It's been a lovely week here in Fife. You can definitely feel the chill in the air, but we've had some beautiful sunny days!

I hope you've had a great week, mine has looked like this...

1️⃣ Happy Friday!
I'm pleased to be returning to our Restorative Class this evening. Time to get cosy and ease gently into the weekend. I love teaching all my classes, but this one is super dreamy 😴

2️⃣ My good friend Michelle and I went along to an art class this week! It was a really therapeutic way to spend a couple of hours. Neither of us would claim to be artists, but we thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely try it again 🎨

3️⃣I know I'm always posting pics of the rabbits that I see on my walks, but they're just so cute! There's usually around 7 or 8 of them as I come quietly round the corner, trying to get a family pic of them all, but they scatter like marbles as soon as I'm anywhere close. This little one was being brave, so I quickly snapped this pic before he jumped into the hedgerow 🐰

4️⃣ As I said last week, I try and resist letting go of the end of the summer, but I do love what autumn has to offer, and the crunch of beach nuts under my feet was adorable this week πŸ‚

5️⃣ I posted about these steps a while ago. My nemesis!! They may not look it, but they are ridiculously steep and uneven. I made a challenge for myself that by the end of the summer, I would be able to run up them. Unfortunately, my running has taken a bit of a backseat. However, I tried this week and made it 2 3rds of the way! I'll keep trying for the whole lot, but I'm happy with my achievement πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

6️⃣ We have to make the most of the daylight now, especially when the sun is shining. You can't beat an evening stroll in the sun ✨️

7️⃣ This week, I started a course with Swarmi Sarandananda on Mudras. I did some training with Swarmi during my Yoga Teacher Training and am really excited to delve deeper into mudras πŸ‘ŒπŸ½

Now, all that's left for me to do is put my plan together for tonight's class and Yoga Nidra, and then that's my week nicely finished.

Have a great weekend, whatever you do.

Is it really cosy jumper time??

I'm really starting to feel the chill! But as it's the Autumn Equinox, I guess I have to admit defeat and ease myself gently into the darker side of the year and find the balance and rest that this season offers.

Classes are on this week but with a slightly different timetable. Due to Culross being used as a film set and The Stables being the production teams base, Wednesday classes will be held at Torryburn Community Centre at 6.45pm and 8pm. Just for this week.

We also see the return of our Restorative Classes on Friday! I'm very excited to be starting this class up again after the summer break. There are a couple of spaces left for anyone wanting to book.

And finally. With so much unrest across the world, please know that my space is a safe space. You're welcome here.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Things I'm grateful for this week πŸ™πŸΌ

Friday seems to come around very quickly, doesn't it!?

Another busy week, and a busy weekend ahead to, but always something to be grateful for.

1️⃣ I had the best time with my friend Kim at .scot Wellbeing Event last Saturday!
For those of you who don't know, Lisa from The Yoga Social runs a wellness festival every year, creating the most amazing atmosphere by bringing in some of the best Yoga teachers, holistic and wellness professionals and allowing those who participate to completely indulge in their own wellbeing, with all proceeds going to the SAMH charity ❀️

2️⃣ The next few pics are just a tiny handful of some of the things that were on offer.
This was a little shrine that was set up as we practised Kirtan (Mantra) in the Yoga Yurt. It was a beautiful experience that I would really love to explore more πŸ•‰

3️⃣ Restorative Yoga! My absolute favourite! It's always a delight to take part and be able to completely switch off and enjoy 😴

4️⃣ I loved this pic of Steph from peeking out of the bell tent. I didn't get the chance to join her session, so I'll just have to go back next year and try again πŸ˜…

5️⃣ And then back into the glimmers of ordinary life. While getting my daily walk in, this little guy stopped me in my tracks! I'm really not a fan of anything slimey, but this was right in the middle of my path and was too cute not to take a pic. I wondered if the leaf was his Yoga mat, and he was enjoying Savasana! 🐌

6️⃣ My first conker of the season! There is something so nostalgic for me about finding a fresh, shiny conker! They are the epitome of autumn, and as sad as I am to say goodbye to summer, I'm looking forward to slowing the pace and feeling the Hygge πŸ‚

7️⃣ And on that note, whether I like it or not, the leaves are turning slowly, there's a chill in the air and the nights are starting earlier. However, the light still shines through, and I'm ending the week with a sense of optimism and peace as a season that has not been the easiest, is coming to an end πŸŽ‘

Have a wonderful weekend, whatever you're doing.

Happy Sunday Everyone πŸ₯°

This is your weekly reminder to draw a heart in the sand, send some love to the world, and get your Yoga classes booked!

That nip in the air is telling us that Autumn is well and truly on its way, so if you don't already bring a blanket for Savasana (which I would always recommend anyway) maybe it's time to look one out.

With the return of Autumn, we see the return of our Restorative Classes πŸ˜€ The first one is on Friday 26th September at 7.30pm, at Torryburn Community Centre.

Things I'm grateful for this week πŸ™πŸΌ

It's been a busy week at The Yoga Hut Fife, but that gives plenty of opportunities for gratitude!

1️⃣ Back to classes! It was lovely to see you all again. The vertigo is much better, but I'm still a little wobbly. However, Yoga is about finding balance, and feeling the wobble is a good thing. It helps us find our feet and figure out how to find some grounding and stability β™ŽοΈ

2️⃣ I had a great time on Sunday teaching my Adoh Mukka Flow workshop and had such great feedback from the participants. I'm very much looking forward to planning our next workshop, which will be held next month and is all about arm balances πŸ’ͺ

3️⃣ My family bought me a weighted vest for my birthday. It takes a bit of getting used to, but I like it! The benefits include increased bone density and muscle mass, better cardiovascular health, and endurance and also improved balance and posture. I even managed a run in it πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

4️⃣ The summer flowers are starting to fade, but these little beauties looked fresh and bright on the backdrop of a little area of wasteland this week. They looked so bold and colourful. I wondered how they had managed to grow, let alone look so striking ❀️

5️⃣ I was treated to a late birthday tea at one of my favourite local eateries this week! Always a lovely way to spend an evening, in lovely surroundings with great friends and great food πŸ₯˜

6️⃣ And now we find ourselves at Friday once again, and it's time to put my feet up and chill for a bit. I have a full day of Yoga, wellbeing events, and workshops (taking part, not teaching) planned tomorrow with .scot, and I can't wait πŸ•‰

Have a super Friday evening and a fantastic weekend. Whatever you're doing, do it with joy.

I'm often asked to write articles for Our South West Fife and Villages newsletter.

For this month's edition I wrote a piece on Adoh Mukk Svanasana / Downward Facing Dog, which I also used for my Pop Up Yoga Session last weekend.

Article written by: Jemma Black - Hatha Yoga Teacher Over the last few issues of the South Dunfermline Newsletter, I have explained and explored what Yoga is, the varying types of Yoga and how Yoga can help you. This month I will focus on a particular pose, or Asana as it is called in Sanskr

Things I'm grateful for this week πŸ™πŸΌ

First up, I must apologise to everyone who had classes booked this week, I had to cancel all of them due to having vertigo. I did try to get cover, but it was all a bit short notice.

1️⃣ I had no choice but to take it easy this week. Vertigo makes you sit still, something I don't think I've been able to do for some time, so that's what I did. It's been peaceful ☺️

2️⃣ Before the vertigo took hold, we managed to get a day out for a walk in the most beautiful countryside, following new paths and discovering amazing waterfalls. Lunch, coffee, and a mooch around the shops. Perfect πŸ‘Œ

3️⃣ I had to miss my last soundbath so this month's was very much needed. I have been attending these each month for a year now, and the difference they make to my well-being is unreal! Soothing, balancing, and harmonising. I can't recommend .awaken enough. Give her a follow and see what she can do for you. Her gifts are quite literally out of this world ✨️

4️⃣ I had a little visitor on Monday. Some people call them messengers. I'm not sure what he came to tell me, but I'm more than happy for him to visit anytime 🐦

5️⃣ This is a very interesting book. It looks at how our bodies communicate with us. I've been following the exercises and affirmations and feeling the benefits πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

5️⃣ When I can't do the physical practise of Yoga, I turn to the 3 M's, meditation, mantra, and mudras. And this is the little haven that I practise from. It's not big or fancy. It's set up on an old tray. But it doesn't matter where we practise or how we practise. All that matters is we practise πŸ™πŸΌ

6️⃣ A little bit of sunshine! Flowers from my buddy and a lovely catch-up β˜€οΈ

And of course, as ever, I'm grateful for you guys. For your understanding, patience, and we'll wishes. I have the best students, and I don't take that for granted.

Have a super blessed weekend. I will see you all again next week!
